Just finished my first track day at Eagles Canyon Raceway on the 2.7 mile course. It was super wet, but still had more fun than I thought and was an amazing time. It was a PCA event so a lot of other Porsches at the track and I was the only American car that turned up other than someone bringing their SRF. But it was still nice scene, a lot of other Porsche owners walked up and asked about the Dark Horse while there was a 911 GT3 RS that showed up and in the same lot. Got to really understand the limits of the tires and how much stopping power I have in the brakes. My instructor said I did a good job being smooth and patient through the corners.
The Dark Horse was amazing, no issues whatsoever. Gave it a 30 minute cool down after my last session before taking my 75 minute trip home. Had about 4 sessions (25 minutes each) and burned thru a tank of gas. Looking forward to more track days at ECR, especially when it's dry. I'm also looking into doing some track days at Motorsport Ranch in Cresson for some variation. My instructor said the 3.1 mile course down there is excellent.
Days like this were part of a long list of reasons why I bought this car. So blessed to have this machine.
