No footage. It was my first day and was raining so I figured there wouldn't be any useful footage. I have a Go Pro I can use but I want to get a Garmin Catalyst at some point.
Just finished my first track day at Eagles Canyon Raceway on the 2.7 mile course. It was super wet, but still had more fun than I thought and was an amazing time. It was a PCA event so a lot of other Porsches at the track and I was the only American car that turned up other than someone bringing...
That's a good dealership, I would go back to them. The ones that charge you $200 and nickle and dime you the other quick fixes are the ones you never do business with again. I would never ask the dealership to strictly install the Strakes, only during services which they are already underneath...
Let me know how it goes. Regardless of where you got your car from, I believe any dealership can easily install Strakes during any service that requires them to get underneath. The good ones, at least.
I asked another dealer I worked with in the past and told me to bring it by for a free install. I was going to take up on that offer until the dealership installing my tires realized how simple it was to install them so they ended up putting the strakes on free of charge. Smart decision.
Funny thing about your post is they were changing my tires and as I went underneath to see the Air Strakes, I looked over the tires and they ended up damaging my right rear wheel. Once I pointed it out they immediately offered to fix it. The bad news is the repair takes 2-3 days and I don't have...
You are so right about this! after a few weeks it started to feel second nature. Maybe even moreso after I take it out to the track a few times and really start pushing it. I absolutely love shifting and revving out this Coyote V8.
Thanks! Fortunately, Texas is a very flat state outside of Austin so don't have to worry about that too much. I did take it down to Austin and didn't have trouble thanks to the hill start assist. I also went through downtown Houston for another test to see if the car can get by with the low...
Sorry, should have added the "dealership" part that wanted to charge me $200 for a part they should install. Good thing the dealership came to their senses and installed it for free while changing my tires today.
Makes sense. They were already getting underneath the car for the service which is why I asked if they could go ahead and put the strakes in considering it's 10 screws and washers. I have no problem doing this myself as I have a jack and the screws, but I was a bit confused as to the whole...
Took my Dark Horse in for its first service and asked them to install the Air Strakes underneath the car. They told me I would have to pay $199 for the labor hour. I'm probably going to do this myself if that's the case, but why is Ford charging me money for parts they provided on the car they...
Looking forward to the results. I'm keeping my Dark Horse stock for a few more years until my warranty expires and have more money saved up. Plan to add a whipple and swap the plastic pieces out with carbon fiber.
Driving my DH HP about 2-4 days a week in winter here in Dallas. Yes, I still have my Trofeo RS's on. So long as the roads are dry and nothing colder than 40 degrees. Tires can be a bit cold to start the drive and not have a ton of grip but they warm up fast. I will say this winter is a lot...
The only reasons I can think of at the moment is a new clutch, fresh tires, and a free day at the Track Attack program.
I'm looking over the market right now and I think it would be tough to net more than $73K on my car. I could throw it up on BaT with a reserve and see what happens, but I...
Earlier today, I got a phone call from my dealership informing me I received a VIN for my Dark Horse Order. A bit awkward considering I just bought a used Dark Horse with under 2,400 miles for a couple grand less than my current order. On one hand, I would like to entertain offers for my current...
Shout out to you, sir, for continuing to post these notes. I've been following you throughout my 18-month wait and always been one step ahead of my dealership when it came to order updates. I sincerely believe these dealer notes is the best tool to use to help push dealerships to gain more info...
Thank you, sir. I may have missed out on a free day of the Track Attack program, but the price difference covers the cost of admission with money to spare. If Ford decides to continue the program next year I may consider making a weekend trip out of it.
Yeah I was letting the clutch out too...
Yes, did that for a good hour or two on my first day. Starting to get a good feel of the bite point to where I'm getting the car rolling faster after a stop without bucking or stalling. Went on the highway and touched 5th and 6th for the first time today.
Good to hear the clutches are pretty...
Yes sir, Blue Ember. I agree with the consensus that pictures don't do the paint justice, looks stunning in person. The car collected a lot of grime on the front during transport. The pics in the OP was immediately after a hand wash. I can't speak much on the Tremec compared to other...
Over the last 18 months, I've been waiting on a Dark Horse Premium allocation. My dealership and Ford have been egging me on to keep my allocation with discounts and price protection guarantees. I got to the stage of giving up on this car because I feared of being told that it'll be Summer of...
