All,

Got a 24 GT MT with PP 4 months ago or so.

I’ve looked through every damn mod/upgrade I can find for the S650 but really don’t know where to start. Theres nothing that really bothers me so far or at least stands out as an obvious first choice.

For those that have had the S650 longer and have performed some upgrades; do you have any suggestions on what to think about first? Any lessons learned or hind sight recommendations. Any info appreciated, thank you.

Hey there!

I'd look into suspension mods and wheels and tires (if you wanted to change style, tires only if not). This is more handling focused, but you can tighten up the car. Exhaust is optional in the sense of a catback, but I thoroughly enjoy the AWE touring.

Of course you can go with a Whipple. I can tell you it's a blast on these cars, but it's definitely an investment.

It really just depends what you're looking for out of the car. Until we have readily available tuning for any sort of mod, if ever, it'll be more cosmetic and exhaust note driven.

Let us know if we can help out!

It's OK to just leave well enough alonne until there's some standout deficiency you note. Exhaust, unless you do headers, will just make it louder. Air intake mods stopped being needed and/or effective generations ago. You can't buy a tune for now. Just buy a new shift knob and enjoy the car.
Yea….kinda had the same thing in mind. Haha, I didn’t say it but a new “pool-cue-like” shift knob was the first thing I bought. The stock one wasn’t terrible, but I definitely like shifting with the new, slightly heavier version. So far, besides tint, some smoked headlight/taillight stuff and maybe a Le Mans racing stripe I can’t really complain about anything. It’s pretty enjoyable stock+PP.

I went springs, spacers, stop the hop bushings and dowels, headers and whipple.
In that order.

and I’d recommend that route 10 times out of 10.
I think it’s a good route. I obviously want to get the whipple….its a long term plan. I thought about some Pedders Xactive coilovers kit for lowering and dampener but I’m holding off for now. If I replace the suspension now…..why the hell did I get the PP? It’s not bad at all, just kinda bumpy on the rough roads. I definitely think it could be lowered a bout an 1”, maybe just some lowering springs but I don’t want to make the bumpy roads bumpier if that’s a side effect of just springs.

The question that must be asked....what is it you are wanting the car to do or look like that's not already there?
Yes, this is true. Honestly I’m still working that out, haha. I think knowing that would def help this question though. Still thinking….

First thing I wanted was my car to be a little louder even though I have active exhaust. So H pipe was my first mod since I wanted to retain the functionality of the active system.
I was also considering the H-pipe. I don’t want to make the sound raspy though. Just kinda increase the sound it has now….basically hear it a bit more in lower RPMs. I also have active, did this work for you?

For me, I’m not wanting to go overboard with the car … and I say that now huh?? Lol. I just went with the Steeda Pro Flow Air Filters and Steeda X Pipe for sound. I’m a Ford Performance guy and will wait until they offer more for the S650 so I can keep it under Factory Warranty. Before this Pony, I was on the hunt for a GT500 but never pulled the trigger. I’m more than satisfied with the sound and performance that I’m getting. As a few of the members said, do what you like and makes you Happy.
thank you. Whipple is long term plan for me….short term I will take a look at those parts you mentioned. Appreciate it!

Window tint is always the first mod for me. Also, how about some locking lug nuts? Not performance mods, but enjoyment and peace of mind.
I just got window tint today! Good idea…..I’ve got a vinyl kit for all the lights too….just need to figure out how to do that. Locking nuts……wouldn’t have thought of that. I like peace of mind

Some options: supercharger, exhaust, coilovers, tint, wheels, rear spoiler, steering wheel (there are some really nice ones out there).

For superchargers, I'd go with the ESS G3 kit. If you want to go loud, could try a Borla ATAK that's compatible with AE., etc,
steering wheel would be cool, don’t know why but I’m not in love with the stock one. Thinking Pedders active suspension kit in near future but honestly I just want it lowered and keep the ford stuff on till it’s work out, it’s not bad.

I’ll check out those supercharger options you posted, thank you.

Oil separator/catch can. Not sexy, or loud, but will increase the longevity of the engine.
i was actually going to ask what the purpose of the Oil separator/catch’s were. Thank you. I think that’s a pretty good idea. I also enjoy thinks working longer haha

There really aren't any factory jacking points except the painted pinch welds, which are easily scraped. The rails just make it easier to lif the car with no damage.

Then I would encourage you to do so. The rails make things easier, plus the four circled areas are on the pinch weld. May not be an issue to use the others if you have a lift, but for at home work, I like and recommend the rails.
