Chrysler has had an aluminum hood on their minivan for years/decades, and some people still have issues with paint peeling off from corrosion.

correct, does not redrust moreAluminum does corrode but apparently it isn't painted correctly.
as long as there is a good barrier between two dissimilar metal(alum/Galv steel) then it should be ok. Issues with quality of paint or the process and problems can and will happen. Sometimes unexposed brackets are not galvanized for this reason.I had a 1996 Towncar with aluminum hood. Zero paint or corrosion issues. Ford started having problems when process was changed. Metal contamination from dissimilar materials caused galvanic corrosion in seams. When the F150 went aluminum Ford dealers had to have a seperate area for collision repair away from any steel contamination. My 2011 Mustang so far no cantamination. There were many that did have for several years with the problem. Once cantamination happen repairs are not successful. Hood must be replaced. I think Ford has this figured out s550 and s650 seem ok.
