I ordered my 2025 mustang GT Premium back on April 18th, I received my first scheduled build date of August 4th back in June. But shortly after approaching that build date it was than delayed to the 18th, a few days later now it’s the 25th, and now it’s been pushed into September, does anyone have any inside info on if theirs been any production delays or is this just happening to me?

Build delays and schedule changes are not uncommon. My build date changed several times before the car went into production.

Yours was scheduled for August and has moved to September. In years past, Ford has gone into bat $h1t crazy mode as the end of the Model Year (MY) approaches: three shifts working on filling remaining orders.

Ford issued a VIN and a date of production. 99% of the time, the car will be built. See exceptions in my Edit comments below.

In 2024, there were several option packages causing delays. Previous examples include black painted roof or Night Pony Package. Buyers that had selected these and other more unique options faced significant delays.

I'm not aware of any option package delays for 2025.

I have not read of any unscheduled pauses or shutdowns at Flat Rock.

When you have time, list your complete build so we can study that.

Parts delays can happen. While not causing a schedule change as significant as an option delay, they can be more frequent.

Summer schedules and planned shutdowns. The factory does close for several weeks, with line schedules changing to accommodate.

Yet another factor is tariffs. Under the existing agreements, while not necessarily having a direct effect, there are indirect impacts. Steel and aluminum production, shipping and transport, customs, etc.

Any of those three topics (options/parts, summer break/MY close, trade and logistics) can be causing changes to occur.

Edit,

Every MY, there instances when builds are cancelled. Every Ford model.

If a car cannot be built before the line is closed, then re-tooled and prepped for the upcoming MY, the build is deleted. Buyers can then work with supporting dealers to submit a build in the next season.

While cancellations can happen, they are few and there are unique circumstances involved.

Production will be wrapping up in September/October, to prepare for the '26 MY. I do not have dates when that will happen.

I suspect your build could have been pooled with the others, as part of the last significant production push before things close for '25 production. Often times, it's more efficient to do everything at one go, than an on/off/back on situation.

If you've got a date for September, that's great. You've done everything you can do. Post your build when you have time. We might have some additional feedback on that.

It's fluid. While dates can move to the right, they can also move to the left.

Dude that is nothing. I ordered my 22 GT500 in Nov of 2021 and received it Sept 2022.
I’d recommend you be patient.

Don't know who, how, or when this will be implemented but Ford has recently said that besides "normal" MY price increases, prices will increase due to tariffs. Ford is not an American made vehicle. Only American assembled and not all of them at that.

This was my build sheet, I did have a lot of options which very well could be the reason for delays, especially with the performance pack and night pony pack

I'm including some links from @Newface ; he's been great at keeping us up to date on these things.

This first link offers the build schedule for the month of August 2025.

It looks like Flat Rock is in the last push for the MY. The month of August is scheduled. As a reference, sometimes they just schedule one week, 10 days, or other blocks of time, not the entire month. September has yet to be scheduled. As things progress, more updates will occur.

Notice the exhausted capacity on silver-painted wheels. This will not affect you, as your options will not require those.

This second link is the last update on constraints.

From Nov 2024, it shows GT and verts had a production shortage of 14 and 16% respectively, at that moment . Nite Pony and PP options had a touch of additional capacity at the time. Eight months is a long interval for things to change. The report gives an idea how parts and capacity can move build dates to the right or left.

August will be a busy month. This time of year could work to your advantage. Ford will be striving to fill every order it has received.

Best Wishes on the build. :please:

The scheduling for August did not show any planned shortage that would impact your build. As Skye indicated, builds can slip several weeks earlier or later depending upon many factors, including particular builds. Hopefully it will get built soon.

Sounds like bad luck. I ordered mine the end of April and built date was week of July 7. I got performance package and nite PP. No active value exhaust.

Could be the particular factor and where u live? I’m in Florida. Didn’t pay attention to which factor built it. Got it last week.

Tariffs don't frighten me either. I'm for them. If you own a Ford, you didn't buy all American. I merely quoted Ford for anyone that cared to know. I really don't care but some people do. Among those people are future car owners, especially the ones that can barely afford them anyway.

Same thing here. Original build week was August 11, then 18, 25... now Sept 1. GT Convertible.

Any more delays and they will be well into the 2026 cars...
