I just reached my 1,000 mile break-in last week and took the car into the dealer for the first oil change and to see if they could find what is causing the dull squeak under deceleration that had developed. This is the first brand new car that I ever bought for myself and I absolutely LOVE the DH, so this was pretty disappointing. Really glad I didn't spend twice as much to buy a DHSC now.

Anyway, I wanted to document this for anyone else that might have this issue. In the thread below, it's described as a clunk, but mine is what I would best describe as a dull squeak under deceleration and you can feel a small jolt in the steering wheel when the noise occurs. Maybe it becomes more of a clunk if left to linger? It's especially noticeable if I get the car up to about 45 mph then let it coast to slow down and it will happen somewhere between about 35-25 mph mark. Often right about 25 mph. But it will also happen when slowing down using the brakes. It's really bothered me lately and makes the car feel cheap, and it happens every time when slowing down. The dealer just told me they are replacing the transmission output flange today. Hopefully that fixes it.

Well, after being at the dealership for 8 days and receiving no real updates (the dealer's AI text system has asked me twice how I like my car since the repairs, but I haven't gotten it back yet), LOL. Just learned that they replaced the transmission output flange, but are trying to find a new motor mount now, which is said to be on back order. This is really turning me off on Ford and this purchase at this point. For now, I have no clue how much longer my car will just be sitting in their lot.

Hope that fixes it. Personally I've bought 4 brand new S650s in the past 2 years, keep rolling the dice hoping for better. I've been disappointed every time. Every one had tons of minor-to-moderate quality issues. That's not even counting recalls. 3 of 4 have gotten at least one NHTSA recall for different reasons (gauge cluster screen dying, water intrusion, windshield wiper/fluid).

Now on my '26 GT I'm chasing down mysterious rattles/squeaks/groans, already ordered another set of rear brake pads to replace the original ones clunking/creaking at low speeds--who knows if that'll even fix it.

I've tried taking stuff to dealers but we all know getting service is a battle every time. Then you have to hope they did the job properly without cutting corners, without damaging your car in some way--and I'm not saying it's entirely their fault. I get it--techs aren't paid enough to care, they don't get enough book hours, the dealer has to fight with Ford for reimbursement, etc.

My experience of Ford quality has been horrible. I've owned Toyota/Lexus/Chevy before these Mustangs and never had such issues. I'm not just a random hater, I put my money where my mouth is... I bought 4 of these things and have all the titles to prove it. I just wish Ford could build one right from the factory.

Wow, sorry to hear, man. That's a lot! I'm hoping they get mine squared away, but it's definitely frustrating. The lack of communication and then AI texts that are "off" sucks, too.
