Oui. Nobody heard of tq management before I guess...? Normal pedal demand is 100% linear. The sport pedal is enhanced and should allow for the TB to open at an enhanced rate v pedal demand.

That being said, there are tq modulation changes between base, Alt1 (sport/track mode) and Alt2 (drag mode). There should be less tq modulation in sport mode v normal mode. So what you say you are feeling goes against whats in the OEM tune file.
Manual cars manually manage torque via the clutch (or at least that’s how it should be).

They have the same tq management as auto cars. There’s tq management on both pcm and tcm for autos and pcm for the manuals plus clutch protection.

Agreed, but before 1972, horsepower figures were of gross ratings so if I take a stock 1965 348hp Goat and translate that to a more realistic net hp, that comes out to slightly under 300hp. That in a 3600 lb car still runs in the high 14'- low 15's no matter what tire you put on it

I love old muscle cars, but I just bought a Dark Horse with 500 horsepower from a little tiny V8. If this engine had been available in 1969 or 1970, it would have been an absolute legend.

GTO had a redline of 5200 rpm. I sold my 66 GTO a few years ago, almost cried, but the Dark Horse blows away all my old muscle cars, even the heavily modified ones when I was younger, and, of course, the braking and cornering . . .

If that is the case what is the point of the clutch pedal ? Pedal provides modulation.

Does the clutch pedal not modulate how much is ‘applied/engaged’? You could depress the clutch and go 100% and does it pull torque?

I think I understand what you're trying to say here, but it can easily be misconstrued as you riding the clutch up hills/in traffic, etc.

The clutch is a clutch. There is no guarantee you aren’t going to pop it or slip it to the ends of the earth. lol. You using the clutch to “modulate torque” is not what it’s for. It’s to engage the transmission. Ford has clutch protection settings in the tune to protect people like you from yourselves.

Same could be misconstrued for the brakes. lol those modulate tq too right? Or the on/off key. That modulates tq as well. All or nothing. Or that curb over there also can be used to modulate tq. Or that car in front of you.

No, you're absolutely right.

I think I get what he's trying to say, its just a really shitty way of explaining it, lol

Look at you. You googled. I’m proud.

Meanwhile in reality, your torque modulator pedal assembly will need to be changed every 5k miles or so for routine maintenance. Because after a few uses, it will start to over modulate tq until it modulates out all tq and you end up with a trans full of neutrals.

In other news, lets look at some actual (non googled) facts.

This is clutch protection and also tq modulation from the tunefile itself of a manual car. This is how Ford intends to protect you from yourself and "self modulating" tq idiots.
