I remember when drifting was a method of getting through a turn by a skilled driver on a road course. Apparently, some people just like to smoke tires. Not my style.....

The drift brake is too far away in a RHD car, so I haven't tried any tomfoolery with it.
I use to do handbrake turns on back country gravel roads which was fun. Feels a bit like "backing it in" on a bike with a touch of rear brake just before you turn in.

Four wheel drifts when the racers were on silly skinny tyres?

I’m going to lay down some rubber and play with the drift brake right before I put a new set of tires on.

Don’t practice between two cars! Just put cones in replacement of car backs and fronts! So you don't smash your nose or your ass of your car.

Good luck!

I have never used it for parking or drifting.

If I ever do, I am afraid I will have to start wearing sideways baseball caps and sport jerseys....
Bruh, word!

Dat cap is phat!

I don't see the need for using the brake when our cars have enough torque to break loose already. But then, I can't maintain a drift for more than a couple of seconds anyway (on a wet skidpad), so I'm not a good judge.

I accidentally used it yesterday and then felt this irresistible urge to go shopping and update my wardrobe's unfashionably out of date clothing style

Here I am this morning after getting ready for church.

That makes sense. I would not get pleasure from turning dollars into smoke, but if your tires are worn down and you are replacing them in a few days anyway, you aren't wasting good rubber.

Couldn't find any threads about people using this. So it was rainy out yesterday and i found a good parking lot and played with the drift brake. What's everyones impression of this thing? I am no stranger to sliding a car sideways in good fun but this was a different experience for me. I was very surprised at the instant on/off with the slight movement of the handle, i guess i thought there would be a little more engagement area.
Was this with "Drift Brake" engaged in the track apps section or were you just using it as a handbrake? I had thought the whole point was that it was progressive, why else have Vaughn Gittin Jr. involved in designing it?! Good tutorial here (at 1:20 he states it's progressive):

I really don't know why people pipe up with "waste of good tyres/money" whenever anyone mentions drifting or burnouts... Literally nearly everything we do in life for fun/hobbies is technically a waste of money, in the sense that you don't get anything tangible back for it. IMO if you enjoy something then you choose if the spend is worthwhile.

You could make the same comparison to track days, as you should change your oil after every one - so is that a waste of money? No, because you enjoyed yourself doing something fun.

Edit: I'd also add that one major reason for buying a Mustang is to get sideways...

I use the handle as a parking brake. I had not tried to drift, and honestly, I have no reason to. I run Goodyear F1 Supercar 3R's, @325 out back....yeah....not trying to burn those up for no reason lol!.
