Is there any way I can set the motion detector to be permanently off , so that I am not asked each time I switch the engine off if I want the motion detector on or off?

Unfortunately almost every update that Ford sends out resets a few user settings to default and you have to personalize your settings again.

It isn't just the Ford software updates, the modules sometimes reset on their own. My Dark Horse has been doing this more and more of late. AT first, she was quiet as a church mouse, it took a few months to get an actual software update, which of course reset everything. Then a couple more. But, I've had no s/w updates in 3 months and I've had the modules reset 5 times in the last 90 days. Of course, there is ZERO way a dealership tech is going to be able to run this to ground...

Annoying, but the car still runs, makes all the right noises and is still fun.

You can disable it from the sitting , once you change any sitting and you want to continue with it you have to safe it to the memory seat

Are you putting it on a trickle charger when not driving for a few days? I put mine on one and got an update (10.1.1)... the first one in a long time... maybe coincidence, maybe not?

I keep disabling the motion sensor in the menu system but every time I check my settings, it's enabled again, but doesn't ask on exit.

also ....it keeps defaulting to emergency braking and steering. I don't want the car to decide when to brake or steer on it's own. I'm in the car with my eyes open.

so even if you disable these settings, check back to make sure they stay checked off.
