DH SC Hood Orderable?

Had a small mishap on the hood of my DH. Was thinking about replacing it and I like the look of the DH SC hood. Does anyone know if it is orderable yet and what I would need to do to my DH for it to fit if anything?

this is not inherently true. if they wanted a GTD hood, then yeah it would be. but the SC is a standard production vehicle, and there's no limitations to buying GT500 parts, so why would there be for the GT500 2 Dark Horse SC?

anyway, OP, here's the part number for the SC hood. TR3Z-16612-A, BUT IMPORTANT NOTE! the parts catalogues do not have the SC parts yet, so while that's the hood, the hood may need additional parts that i cannot visualize yet. order at your own risk

Yes you couldn’t buy GT500 parts like hoods or other specific parts like that to transform your non gt500 into one. VIN numbers used to be required by ford for parts orders for a whole bunch of s550 GT500 parts. Absolutely.

Thank you for the information. After I posted in here I sent a message to Lebanon Ford to see if it was possible for them to order. I will try and remember to post any updated information here.

You werent ordering GT500 specific parts like a hood or supercharger assembly and so on. Steering wheel buttons arent going to be one of those parts they require VINs for, and on some of them they required a core.

Furthermore, eventually some of those parts end up on the ford racing performance parts site. Then you can order them once they land there.

I guess I will have to now. I didn't realize Ford required VINs for ordering parts on certain cars. Bummed about my hood. Honestly though when I saw the SC hood I thought it looked sexy and way better than the standard DH hood. In my opinion this is an area where Ford dropped the ball a little. I think there should be something a little more on the DH and the DH SC is perfect for what the standard DH should have came with.

if you find out if the paddles work on the regular gt and dh
from the DH sc try to remember to let me know as i do want those

Well I don't think they can order it, because Ford is filling regular orders. They didn't say anything about it requiring a VIN, and I didn't ask that specific question. Are there any aluminum GT 500 style hoods that will fit. What I am seeing is carbon fiber but I want it painted to match.

could be because it's not in any parts catalogues yet. if they can't find it, they likely can't order it. might be worth checking later in a month or two. even parts.ford.com doesn't list it

Just curious, is your DH a '25 and what color is it?

Bummed out. I found some hoods I like but they are carbon fiber. Anyone know of a good painter near Dayton Ohio that can paint them or is that a bad idea? If I can paint them after the paint hardens can I ceramic coat it?
