this is not inherently true. if they wanted a GTD hood, then yeah it would be. but the SC is a standard production vehicle, and there's no limitations to buying GT500 parts, so why would there be for theLike most of these special Ford cars, they require a VIN number from that vehicle to order a part for it like that.
TR3Z-16612-A, BUT IMPORTANT NOTE! the parts catalogues do not have the SC parts yet, so while that's the hood, the hood may need additional parts that i cannot visualize yet. order at your own riskThank you for the information. After I posted in here I sent a message to Lebanon Ford to see if it was possible for them to order. I will try and remember to post any updated information here.this is not inherently true. if they wanted a GTD hood, then yeah it would be. but the SC is a standard production vehicle, and there's no limitations to buying GT500 parts, so why would there be for theGT500 2Dark Horse SC?
anyway, OP, here's the part number for the SC hood.TR3Z-16612-A, BUT IMPORTANT NOTE! the parts catalogues do not have the SC parts yet, so while that's the hood, the hood may need additional parts that i cannot visualize yet. order at your own risk
curious how, when i had my Mach 1 and the GT500 was just ending production, i managed to order both GT500 paddle shifters and a steering wheel button cluster without a VIN then. ditto with the numerous people who also ordered GT500 parts for their S550s. the GT500 parts are not restricted like Ford's halo car (GT, GTD) are. the GT500 is just another trim level of standard Mustang like the GT500 wasYes you couldn’t buy GT500 parts like hoods or other specific parts like that to transform your non gt500 into one. VIN numbers used to be required by ford for parts orders for a whole bunch of s550 GT500 parts. Absolutely.
You werent ordering GT500 specific parts like a hood or supercharger assembly and so on. Steering wheel buttons arent going to be one of those parts they require VINs for, and on some of them they required a core.curious how, when i had my Mach 1 and the GT500 was just ending production, i managed to order both GT500 paddle shifters and a steering wheel button cluster without a VIN then. ditto with the numerous people who also ordered GT500 parts for their S550s. the GT500 parts are not restricted like Ford's halo car (GT, GTD) are. the GT500 is just another trim level of standard Mustang like the GT500 was
but those parts were actually GT500 specific, and were ordered by me during mid to late 2022. magnesium alloy paddle shifters that only work with the DCT (i tried it), and a button cluster with the suspension and steering mode button (the GT350 had these on the other cluster, not the one i ordered, so it is GT500 specific). but i think the true thing to settle this will be what Lebanon Ford says if they answer OP. @Flash, please keep us posted hereYou werent ordering GT500 specific parts like a hood or supercharger assembly and so on. I guess I will have to now. I didn't realize Ford required VINs for ordering parts on certain cars. Bummed about my hood. Honestly though when I saw the SC hood I thought it looked sexy and way better than the standard DH hood. In my opinion this is an area where Ford dropped the ball a little. I think there should be something a little more on the DH and the DH SC is perfect for what the standard DH should have came with.but those parts were actually GT500 specific, and were ordered by me during mid to late 2022. magnesium alloy paddle shifters that only work with the DCT (i tried it), and a button cluster with the suspension and steering mode button (the GT350 had these on the other cluster, not the one i ordered, so it is GT500 specific). but i think the true thing to settle this will be what Lebanon Ford says if they answer OP. @Flash, please keep us posted here

could be because it's not in any parts catalogues yet. if they can't find it, they likely can't order it. might be worth checking later in a month or two. even parts.ford.com doesn't list itWell I don't think they can order it. Are there any aluminum GT 500 style hoods that will fit. What I am seeing is carbon fiber but I want it painted to match.
