Well, if there is an insurrection, the state may be to busy to be inspecting cars.
There is an insurrection. Calif. and NY are two of the states people are leaving the most for elsewhere. Same with oil refineries shutting down. They think their gas is high now, just wait a few months.

Perhaps you mean a diaspora. We are having one now too, if things don't get better the only ones left will be those too stupid and/or stoned to leave.

Let us know when you get the headers installed!
Hey Junkyard Dog, thought I'd update you on the Stainless Works LTH. It was a b*#ch to install. And I've done headers before on a couple silverado I've owned but this was not easy to say the least. And I have one of those auto lifts that lift the car a couple of feet off the ground, so basically I'm laying on my back doing this with a buddy, it was very difficult. Took us almost 3 days to finish. The instructions they give are very basic. There are so many things you have to remove just to have room to get to the bolts and studs. My hands are tore up from trying to get to them. But I pushed through it. Only to get to one of the last steps which was installing the O2 sensors and come to find out that the included wire extensions they sent were not right. The plugs on them were different and they were only 6 inches in length which is no where close to what is needed. Good thing my buddy is a master at solving problems like this. He took the O2 sensors wires and cut them and soldered more wire to them and put the factory connectors back on them. I couldn't have done it without his help. So in the end it worked out but I will be calling Stainless tomorrow to let them know about their quality control before sending out their products. Anyway, the car sounds so good. Definitely louder but for me not unbearable. There's always the quite mode setting for when it's not appropriate to be loud and in normal mode sounds good. I drive it in Sport mode always and in auto it's alright. Put it in manual mode and then it starts sounding like it should. And downshifting is another experience, with the pops and burbling it's definitely an attention getter. Needless to say I'm very happy with how it all came out even with the difficulties in installing it and the extension wires not being correct. Would I do the install myself again, hell no. But it was very worth it. I'm trying to upload a video of me starting it up this morning but every time I do I get a error saying something went wrong and it won't let me upload it..not sure why. But when I figure it out I'll post it so you can hear it. Alright well that's all for now.

Put the video on Youtube and you can just post the YouTube video?

3 days, ouch.

Glad you got it done!

Are you considering E85 and a custom tune or no? (is E85 a thing in California?)

UPDATE: It looks like they have E85 all over Huntington Beach:
E85 Huntington Beach

but those prices, ouch!

Hi,
Ya 3 days was way too long and I'm still feeling it in my body from being under, over and everywhere in that car. Lol.
We do have E85 here but I'm not too familiar with it and what needs to be done in order t8 use it. It is cheaper however as you probably saw our gas prices here are some of the highest in the country. My monthly gas spending alone is well over 1k a month and that's just if I drive to work and back.
As far as getting a tune yes I plan on having it retuned for the new headers but I think that's all for now. Don't plan on doing much more to it for the time being just going to enjoy driving it. Here's a short clip of the cold startup. Figured out the file was too large to upload so I made it shorter.

Sounds good and glad it was worth the effort. How do you plan to get that through smog checks with LTs in CA? "Special" station? ;)

Haha. No no special station. Since it's a new car the first smog test isn't due for 8 years. I still have 7 years to go for mine. If I still have the car in 7 years I will take the LTH out and put in the factory ones. However that's only if I have it and still live in California. My plans are to move to Texas in the next 5 years or so to be closer to my son. I'm tired of all the BS in California. Too many laws. Can't have this on your car you can't have that scary black rifle. It's always something here. I love the weather but that's about all that's good here.
