Fellow S650 Brothers & Sisters, have you experienced a time when your Custom Mode Selection has removed/deleted?? I got in my GT ready to leave work and tried to put my Custom Mode on and it informed me that it was unable to do so. I drove further and tried the other Preset Modes and they all responded appropriately. Pulled over to check in the Custom Mode section and it was removed. Tapped in 1st slot where it should be and it would not allow me to add it back. Tried slots 1 - 5 and nothing. Powered car off and sat for a few minutes thinking it needed to “reset” with power off. Nope and this is quite strange. Checked Software and I’ve been on 6.4 for several days not and was not sure if they slipped another one in that I hadn’t seen it posted today.

Very strange, but there have been all sorts of strange occurrences it seems.

FYI: The Sync version number does not always change with an update, so don't take having the same version as a sign nothing was updated.

Just wanted to put that out there in case I missed something from the Community today.

Update: I just went out to he garage to start him up once more and what do you know .. it’s back. Go figure right. Feel like I jumped the gun but with all the good and pertinent Information on this Forum, I figured it was a good place to start this thread and see if anyone else had any similar experiences.

One thing I did notice today as I walked up to the car in the parking lot, it did not “Welcome” me as it normally does. 🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️

So, I was trying to not start new thread on this topic.......

Just last night, I got in my car and went to put it in my custom mode as I always do, and it was gone. Went to custom profiles, and none were setup, and I was unable to setup anything new.

So I got home and let it sit overnight. Got in this morning, same issue. Still no ability to go to my custom mode, and can't setup anything new......

Should I reset somehow with the battery? Any other suggestions how to fix this without having to go to dealer?

Not sure what or why this happened but it’s happened to me twice now and after a few hours, it returns. I think I even deleted my profile associated with my Keyfob but no luck. I wouldn’t recommend the Dealer just yet and give it more time but in the end, you will have to choose and make that decision. Hope that it “restores” itself real soon.

Not saying this is the reason, but after 13 years of dealing with the Sync 3 system in my 2011 Explorer ltd, I can tell you that MS had some seriously buggy code with tons of memory leaks in it all the time that would over time trash settings as data would spill over into areas it wasn’t supposed to. Often it would take a full reboot to get things working right. It finally stabilized to a decent state after about 4 years of them “fixing” things.
So I’d say give it time. They’ll get the bugs worked out but memory related bugs can be a major PITA to find because they creep up inconsistently and unexpectedly and only after you’ve operated things for a period of time.

Truly that what @DontHitMeSafetyYellow shared, and for the most part it’s a OS bug with Sync 4 but being that it’s gotten better in the last month with catch up and improvements through the OS updates, things are normal now.
