Some 2022 and 2023 models have a problem where the convertible roof is difficult to close. The SSM51523 service bulletin describes it. Based on this video, the 2024 may have this problem as well.

it looks like every part is the same since 2015, except the frame of the roof, which is new for 2024

also, OP mentions SSM 51523, but SSM 51712 is basically the same, but the expected resolution timeframe is changed to Q3 2023

SSM 51712 2022-2023 Mustang – Power Close Operation Ends 1 To 4 Inches From The Windshield Header And Requires Extra Effort To Latch

Some 2022-2023 Mustang vehicles equipped with a convertible top may exhibit a convertible top power close operation that stops 1 to 4 inches from the windshield header and require extra effort to latch. Component replacement is not expected to resolve this condition. Engineering is investigating a service fix expected to be released in Q3 2023. Submit a Report a Vehicle Concern form located at the bottom of the OASIS screen and attach any available pictures to assist with the engineering investigation. Continue to monitor OASIS for updates.
