Cobra Jet Manifold (for S650)

Ford has released a new Cobra Jet intake manifold featuring dual throttle bodies to support the S650 mustang!

The retail price is $1500. Porting options are already available from 1320 junkie.

Ford states the S550 may need hood modifications or aftermarket lower engine mounts to fit with the stock hood (no word on fitment for S650).

It will need custom vacuum line routing to fit auto transmissions (at least for the s550), but this was also the case with the previous cobra jet.

This intake has been redesigned and will support 20+ PSI and has been tuned for 7,750 rpm peak power.

That is for the mono or the twin blade oval throttlebody not for two throttle bodies. Look at the mount, it only has four mounting bolt holes

Boschma's Speed Shop in Beloit WI. has made an adaptor for the Dual Throttle Bodies for the Cobra Jet intake!

Decades ago we would have been all over picking up 25 horsepower here, and 14 there.

Now everybody is like, "That's nothing. What a waste of money. Just bolt on a whipple and do 875 hp."

You could take a 2V 99-04 GT from 230whp to almost 400whp with a Vortech kit back then. Pretty decent increase but you were starting out with a lot less performance.

I tuned one of these the other day on E85. It was street tuning so no dyno numbers, but man it felt stronger up top. From 7k+. I had to put some mean in the mid range to try and offset the tq loss folks report with these - which I could feel butt dyno. But once I beefed it up, it was good. And that top end sing is worth the price of admission. Getting one for my personal s650 shortly.
