Clutch warranty

Hi all. I own a 2025 gt, purchased in may of last year , and i had 8,500 miles on it i do daily it .

One day was driving , got off the free way and did 2 launch control the first one was fine the second one after 2nd gear i hear a loud noise and my clutch was super hard to press down and loss power ( rpm was up but car wasn’t moving with it) and smell of rubber came. Any long story short got tow to the dealer.

the dealer quote me 2,800$ just to tore it down and look at it before making the warranty decisions , and to change the whole clutch it was 8000$ something for everything , they said i have to agree to it before they tore it down. Im afraid that when they tear it down and going to denied the warranty cause of the wear and tear . Keep in mind i never raced or tracked or did anything crazy to the car or ride the clutch except for launch controls , i do stuck in traffic daily , but 8,500 miles burn clutch is crazy i been driving manual since i was 18 it been more than 10 years i never seen it.

anyways i want some opinions from you guys that i should go ahead and agreed to it and let them tore it down and check or just go after market clutch . Since yall know how the dealership is with the warranty especially when it come to wear and tear stuff

Im not sure about how the warranty works, but that sounds freaking nuts!? Are you saying you have to pay for this? Or will they reimburse you? As far as I know you should not be out any money! Clutch covered? I would think it's covered. Wear and tear stuff would be tires and brakes right?

No they just tell me the estimate if the warranty doesn’t cover, they havent even touch my car yet and the clutch is also wear and tear items like brake and tires

I have never had a ford dealer make me pay anything for warranty work. I have had mostly minor issues but I did have a Ranger that the block and crank (I think they ended up replacing whole motor) under warranty and didn’t pay a dime. I would contact ford support directly (number in owner’s manual)

As the clutch is a wear item like brake pads, my first guess would be that they won’t warranty this part. If something else is broken it may be different.

They really won't cover a clutch on a new car with under 10k miles? But what if the clutch burned from the broken warranty parts?

I mean they never said they denied the warranty but im just afraid of saying yes to the tore down and pay 2k8 just for the tore down if the warranty was denied . With that 2k8 i could get a whole new oe clutch and go to an independent shop

I understand , I would think same thing. Wanting to get aftermarket. If it was my car being that new I would probably go through dealership for warranty.

My feeling is that they will cover all of it because the parts that broke that caused the clutch to fail are warranty covered. Or they should cover it.

$2800 just to pull the 'box out? Are they using 24 carat gold tools?
From the description that does not sound like a fried clutch plate, sound more like the pressure plate has failed.
And, what's this coercive BS about you paying? The car is within warranty and driven how the designers intended. Do they want to sell you another car in future or not?
I'd like to see them prove driver error. How about another dealer?

That dealer sucks. $2800 for tear down at $150 per hour equals around 18 1/2 hours. That's nuts. The people working on your car must be getting paid coffee and lunch breaks. Take that car to an honest shop. With those numbers. $8000 even with $200 per hour that's 40 hours. Thats like stealing.
