My foot slips off the brake pedal. I have no problem with the rest of the fleet only the Mustang. The big problem is backing into the garage. It's scary gassing and braking at the same time.
Anyone else having the same problem and what did you do to fix it?

Maybe try a different pedal? Or a pedal cover or different shoe. Thats what I'd try. Goodluck :like:

Interesting post .... for decades my favorite driving shoes were Timerland boat shoes, for over a dozen or so cars I owned. I wore those shoes when I picked up my new Mustang and immediately, my foot slipped off the brake pedal. Any way, you can see from the pic, where I press the brake, upper right of the pedal that has the aluminum pedal cover. The soles of my Timberlands would just "slip" off. I changed shoes, softer soled sketchers - problem solved

Never had the problem, regardless of shoes. It doesn't look like you're covering the entire pedal.

Well hopefully you're not heel-toeing in the garage so try moving your seat a little bit closer to the pedals or something. 😂

Anyone who has actively engaged in racing, will know the exact reason for the 'malady'. At least one got it correctly—change shoes!

It is not uncommon for racers to wear different shoes depending on the vehicle they're racing. And by shoes, I mean they're not necessarily 'racing' shoes. Whichever, whatever, rubber soles are usually the best. Shoes, similar to those with sewn-on soles which have lips, can catch the edge of the pedals with obvious results. And comfort is a key as well.

I find my shoe slipping off the brake pedal when I put a coat of ceramic on the paint and wheels. It seems the overspray lands on the floor which ends up on the bottom of shoes.
Just my story.

I drive stick. I have switched over to Vans (the checkered ones basically). I cannot wear boots, dance shoes, or anything that feels different. Well, technically I can, but it will feel foreign. I have never had issues with my foot slipping off pedals, so it must be your shoes, as others have stated.

I'VE HAD THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM. ALMOST LOST IT BACKING OUT OF MY GARAGE A COUPLE OF TIMES. NOW I KEEP MY LEFT FOOT OVER THE BRAKE PEDAL AND MY RIGHT HAND ON THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WHEN I BACK OUT. SCARY! THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. I'M GOING TO SEE IF I CAN MAKE SOME KIND OF SAFE ADJUSTMENT TO THE BRAKE-PEDAL WIDTH. I DO NOT HAVE THE PROBLEM WITH MY OTHER CAR (A KIA SOUL). THANKS FOR POSTING.

That sounds very much like using tyre dressing on bike tyres. You only do it once.
