Best or Worst drag race moment?

Did you drag race someone at an intersection while waiting at a stop light? What car did you race? What was the outcome? This is just for fun and I am curious. Or do you have other fun racing experiences? Thanks.

My worst drag racing experience was in a friends' GT350. He swapped to a different shifter and it meant that it was very close. I did my burnout and as I was staging I kept thinking, "wow, this is so tight but I am pretty sure I am in first". Light went green and --- "son of a ...." car was in third. Had my worst pass of the day in the Shelby

here are my best, worst, and favorite
best: walked a Model 3 Performance up an on ramp
worst: got smoked by my dad in his Lightning (i also kept missing my shifts and hitting the fuel cutoff)
favorite: was dead even with a Porsche 911 GT3 until we both decided to tap out

My best was in my 2006 Mustang Pony convertible. I was lining up against an older Camaro, making a lot of noise with a loud exhaust, and his friend called out, "no problem it's just a V6".

Did my burnout and then hit the nitrous purge. Treed him and he never caught me and took the win. My friend walked up to him in the pits and said, "nice looking car. too bad the V6 beat you". He slammed the hood down the Camaro, loaded it up on his trailer and left.

Worst: cops lit us up, buddy I was "racing" got pulled over and taken to jail, cops came and got me at home a couple hours later

I had my built 2004 GTO and in test and tune days this built silver 2002 Camaro would always beat me by just a hair. I never did beat him before i sold my car

My funnest experience was borrowing my friends 1986 GLHS Dodge Omni (ugly as sin) and getting a 1985ish Camaro to race me at a light. I won! That was back in 1987.

My worst race was driving my '69 Road Runner and agreed to race a car at a stop light that I new I could beat (I don't remember the car I raced though), but I had been driving around already and it wasn't a few seconds into the race that my car overheated. Come to find out it was my carburetor that caused my car to overheat. It was an embarrasing loss not to mention the guy flipped me the bird out the window as he drove away.

My best were in my 2019 Roush Supercharged GT. Beat many a supercar on the freeway. Lambo, Ferrari, Porsche GT2 (yes... THE GT2). The car ran 10.7's at 135mph when it wasn't broken.

Now that I drive a 3 cylinder GR Corolla? My favorite is any car that isn't expecting a Corolla to roll over them. Hemi 392? No problem. SS Camaro 10spd from a roll was the best. (disclaimer: The 3cyl is built with a bigger turbo and pushing close to 380whp) It's quite the sleeper.

I remember mid 80's I had a plain ole Mustang Ghia 5.0, but was only 139 hp in those days. I was going around a traffic circle and was dead even with a current era Corvette. He looked over and we both floored it as we exited the circle. There was no other cars so we kept in it, and I was shocked to see my car pulling ahead. Wow was he pissed! As we let up he got even with me and gave me a dirty look as only those who live in New Jersey can give...lol.

I still don't see how it was possible I beat him...but it happened.

Sitting beside a Yamaha R1 at the lights in my slow, boring SUV. Couldn't use launch as it would have given the game away, so I put it in sport mode and just nailed it on the green.
I had 20 metres on him before he woke up and blasted past.
My wife had to laugh at that one.

That must be a Special Tuned GR cause this made me check the Toyota website and the 25 Year model, it only boasts ~300hp but it is All Wheel Drive and I bet that is TOTALLY FUN!!!!

Typically I don’t entertain those invites because down here in Houston Tx and I’m sure all of the surrounding Counties, States etc that street racing is MAJORLY FROWNED UPON but I once had to give this guy that work. I already knew that all the Mopar cars are heavy thus the bigger displacements and all but dude was asking for it. Leaving work and just merging on to the Highway and saw this White Dodge Charger 392 Scat in my peripheral and then heard him downshifting with loud pipes. Well here we go, I’m just trying to drive home and get with the flow of traffic. Story would be too long, but let’s just say he exited off REAL MAD!!!!
