It is in the American spirit to refuse to obey, after all.
Refuse to obey over here is sitting in jail and supee high fines

That will never happen.
If that were true, America wouldn't exist. We are, after all, you... if you go back far enough. 😜

EDIT: I skimmed your location and thought it was Europe. The sub-500hp number also led me to believe that. I'm not sure where you are at, so that statement might not be accurate here. hehe

Okay, I've driven the supercharger point home far enough. Now I'll mention some of the PITA that comes with making goofy horsepower so you can feel better.

I can't "just go" for a cruise. I need to check the weather first. If it's got a 20% or greater chance of rain, I have to head back home before it gets me. If it's suppose to rain a little on my way out of the house, I can't go. Drag radials are dangerous in wet weather above 40mph. I have a second set of rear wheels with some all-weather tires (315's though hehe) that I have to put on before I leave if I'm unsure about the rain. Same goes for cold weather. Gotta swap wheels. Then when I'm on the all-weather tires (Pilot Sport 4S) they're great for wet/cold driving and handling but they're useless for hard acceleration, even in the summer.

I have to investigate ANY new sound coming from the car. Most of the time it's someone else's vehicle next to mine making a ticking or clanking sound. But I'm still nervous until I verify the source of the sound.

Making nearly 1000bhp without cats means it's loud AF. Ear-shattering levels of noise when I get on it (but sounds great WOT). With the extra power comes vibrations. They loosen your interior panels. I hear creaks and rattles all the time. I usually just roll the windows down and drown it all out with my exhaust or roll them up and play the radio loudly.

I live in an area where the police think my car is cool and leave me alone or ask me to get on it. However, that's unusual. I was passing through some redneck town a couple weeks ago and a sheriff deputy ran me down (cutting in and out of traffic with lights) to ask threateningly "is everything okay, BOY?" because he thought I was revving at other drivers but in reality I was just engine breaking to slow down for stoplights.

I have to keep up with how many miles I've put on EVERYTHING and replace stuff ahead of time. Breaking down while in boost is no bueno. It can be the difference between a tow home and a new engine.

So, yeah, it's not all sunshine and rainbows if you want to go fast. Kinda why I'm torn between wishing I'd stayed NA but being unhappy with how slow the Dark Horse was in a straight line NA (which is why I supercharged it). I try not to think about that too much because it'll eventually lead me to wondering why I have six figures sank in a car at all. Then I feel extra stupid. 😅

You guys are allowed to delete cats in the US? Here you car documents will be suspended during the yearly check.
It seems like nobody answered your question.

No. We are not allowed to remove the catalytic converters. Period.

There are several thousand dollar fines involved if you do. Automotive shops that do it can face a $25,000 fine.

We have 50 states. 45 of them mirror the federal law on this issue.

Most metropolitan areas have yearly emissions inspections during which the tester is required to inspect the car visually for the presence of catalytic converters. Passing this check is required to register your car, which is required to drive on public roads.

Plus, on top of it, if you just drive it like a sane human being it will last forever whether it's supercharged or not. Beating on a car is what kills it.
This is the word.
Couldn't agree more.
I had a muppet boi racer 'tard for a neighbour, he killed three indestructible Honda engines in three years by rev bombing it all the time and generally being a dick.

You're on a reality roll today. Good job.
