You guys are so awesome, a wealth of information! I'm really glad to be apart of this AMAZING Mustang 7G world...... From other threads I've been reading, the ring harness should be wired to the positive side of the fuze box and the negative to the strut tower and NOT directly to the battery terminals because of the Battery Control Module cross connect. That, I believe is the way the manual tells us how to jump start the car on a dead battery. I think I'll purchase the NOCO Genius 5 on Amazon, $69 for my peace of mind. Gentleman, AGAIN, thank you for your time and input. I enjoy reading up on all your threads!

A cold start every two weeks is pointless. That's the #1 cause of engine wear. Plus you then want to get it up to operating temperature which is going to take a while if it's cold where you when it's just sitting.

Just leave the damn thing off until you're going to drive it in spring.

What he said.... , starting up the car just introduces more cold starts, and moisture into the system and its if its just parkerd it will take a long time to get up to temp

I parked mine on some tire cradles to help with flat spots, put in a couple lbs extra air in the tires since the garage will get down to -30 in the winter, fuel stabilizer and a fuel top up before i parked it and throw my 5amp noco tricklle charger on and just leave it

wesg97,,, Ontario! Probably 5x as cold up there as in PA. It hasn't gotten that cold in the 50 plus years l've lived here. I totally understand and appreciate your input, Thank you! We sometimes get a break through the winter with some warm spells, I will definitely take advantage on those days and take her out for A LONG RIDE! I'll raise those tire pressures for sure and the tank is always topped off with 94 octane!! Winter is coming, stay warm my friend!!!

And cold starting adds contaminants which will be distributed around the engine and not burnt off, as they would with a drive at normal temps.
If you're not going to drive it for 6 months or so, you can pull the plugs, inject 10 mls of engine oil into each cyl and spin it on the starter. Like outboard storage.

Because the owners manual covers their ass. Anyone who stores cars doesn't start them up every other week.

They just don't want people having to bug the dealer when they park it for a month.

Here's a cleaned up version of that harness with 1/4 flame proof conduit. ALL CREDIT TO GRABBER1 for step by step install.
