I ordered a base GT, only with PP1 and Automatic in L. Blue. Nothing else.

Order date: 2/23/18
VIN Issued: 1/3/18
EDD (as of 3/3/18): 5/14/18 ...WTF?????

I'll keep posted dates to compare. Am trying to read Thread to understand timeline. I order a low-content V8 and have to wait 11 weeks!!! @#%$#!
11 weeks is not that uncommon I think, pretty sure the official quote is 10-12 weeks, I might be wrong. But just remember, there are quite a few of us who ordered back in August 2017, received our cars in 2018.

Wow...okay. Well, I guess patience is the name of the game then. My dealer told me 6-8 weeks. I actually am somewhat okay with a long delivery wait, I just wanted a March production date for some personal/sentimental reasons. We'll see.

Thanks.

Anyone lose car completely with COTUS not recognizing VIN when previously it had?

My dealership said “8 to 12 weeks”. My quoted EDD puts delivery at 11 weeks. 5 down and 6 to go... feels like an eternity!

It'll also vary a lot with location. My delivery date is a full month after my build week. A month of my almost 3 month timeline is transport.

The wait does suck but it's pretty awesome the day you get to pick it up. One thing I like about ordering versus buying off the lot is you know your car hasn't been test driven at all. My last order a few years ago, there were only 2 miles on the truck when I picked it up.

Not only that, but there are fewer compromises. I always seem to want unicorns. :D

Atlanta must be a central part of Ford distribution because I am scheduled for three days sooner and still not in production.

I ordered 8 days after you, with 4/12 EDD... here's hoping my status changes next week!

COTUS finally shows my car. But now I'm confused and upset. I have the order sheet dated 12/12/2017 yet COTUS says it was ordered 1/8/2018, two weeks after I thought I agreed to the order? Aside from that, even if it was ordered 1/8/2018 then it makes me even more upset that EDD is 5/6/2018. Four months??? What happened to 6-8 weeks or 10-12?? UGH!

Weird. My order date is a few days after yours (and the actual date I ordered it) & due to be built next week. Which dealer did you go with?

It sounds like your dealer didn't actually order the car until 1/8/18. You can print an order sheet before it's actually submitted to Ford. My salesman did that so I could double check everything before he submitted the order. The reason why it could take that long is your dealership may not have allocation. I ordered on 1/25/18 and my car is scheduled to be built next week.
