Or better yet, why they can’t inform the dealers that they have a fix and are nearing a resolution. My dealership is either truly getting told nothing or doesn’t care enough to check but this fix doesn’t even exist in their eyes.
Yeah who knows what is really going on behind closed Ford doors. This isnt even just Ford Australia. The dealers in the US and Canada havent been given a fix either yet.

Firmware updates can only work around poor hardware designs so much.

It certainly didn't look like a full-on IPC reset to me, as if it were power cycled.
ie; the speedo and tacho did not run through it's start-up animation etc.
The backlight just died momentarily.

That tends to make the low-volts reset excuse BS in my eyes.

I wonder what their plan B is. If they cant sort it with firmware or it becomes problematic at the dealer end, I wonder if they will just replace the whole panel.

I can guarantee that ford will not replace the entire panel.

I wish they would just give me my vehicle and I’ll come back when they figure their crap out.

What was your experience with the screen failure?
How long was it down for?
Did it appear to do a full-reset (with any re-animation?), or was it just the back lighting?

Reading your experience, mine is totally different, which is interesting and annoying at the same time lol, when mine plays up its when I first get into the car, the IPC speedo side will be non-existent, power off the car, no not coming back, turn off the car lock it and walk away, roughly 1 to 2 hrs, come back and the IPC comes back on. This has happened twice exactly like this since i have had the car now at 1680kms. As I am holidays this week, I have been going to the gym at 7am each day and driving it on the highway then getting a Macas coffee before going back home, enjoying the driving experience, regardless of the issue I love this car sooooo much.

I didn't look at the ODO at the time, but can back-calculate it happened around 1,530 km +/-.
Absolutely no hint of any issues prior to yesterday.

Have my Piece of Mind service in 2 weeks.... will be asking questions then!

I asked Ford Australia via Facebook and got the normal scripted reply:
" We have no news to share about vehicles being fixed, only that our teams are working on it. The software and tools required for Dealer conducted repairs, are progressing, but not yet available as a field fix. Ford will advise the Dealers of its availability as soon as it is finalised. There is no timeframe that I can advise you of at this point in time. Apologies for the inconvenience. "

If there was a price for the worst communicating car company on the planet, Ford would be Olympic gold winners for sure.

Just check with the service department whether they are allowed to release your car back to you after the service. My dealer said that legally they can not give you your car back until the fix is applied and he has a couple of very annoyed people with their cars now sitting at the dealer after their service. Not sure if this is true or not....

Sounds about right, really holding out for a January delivery.

Would like some advise or any opinions.
I ordered a vapour blue GT with black pack and magneride with manual transmission in April 24. Original delivery was late October 24 but that didn’t last to long before receiving notice of delays. Currently my car now a 25 build is April at the earliest. My dealer has given options of cars that have arrived which I insisted on the manual. In early November I verbally agreed on a carbonized grey manual with no options, sitting in the dealership and told I could have in 2 weeks. Then comes the recall….
Given no clear fix for the recall, I may only wait another month or two for the car I originally wanted.
Only compromised because I thought I was getting a car earlier.
This is getting very frustrating.
