One of my mates got the same call. This sucks for people who have been waiting for over 2 years for their cars, to have them this close and then this. I hope they can sort this quick for everyone waiting but it sounds like it could be at least a month away.

afaik mine is still sitting on the docks in Baltimore two months later.
I have my VIN though. Plugged it into that website, and no recall on mine it seems.

Glad I haven't fitted a screen protector (expensive!) yet, if the screen assembly has to be replaced.

Your gate release date is after 20th August?

Just checked all the info I have, and no build date. :(
It is possible mine is after 20 Aug though.
My dealer gets back from holidays in the coming days. I was already going to hit him up for a ship name (if I have one), so I'll ask about all this mess at the same time.
See how we go. He's already made a comment to me that I seem to know more than him about things. lol.

Shame it's the screen(s) tech that's the issue. Dunno about you fellas, but I'd be happy without all that crap anyhow. Just put some old school knobs and dials in and I'm good.

I plugged my VIN into the website and mine (gladly for now) is not affected.

My GT had a segmentation date of 23 Sept 2024 (ie built after 20/8/24)

I was recently advised that my delivery has been pushed back from 15/1/25 to 14/2/25 and now 7/3/25!

Excuse I was given a week ago by my dealer that ships are having difficulty navigating the collapsed Baltimore bridge and that is causing delays in loading and shipping through this port!

I think the real reason for the delay is this recall, and Ford needing to check/replace these screens on the 6192 affected vehicles before any further cars leave the US. As noted in the Notice, this is a significant safety issue that could lead to an increased risk of a crash.

Disappointing is all I can say.

This is now a sticky thread, so it's easy to find.

Well this is just ironic. After about a 3 year wait, my dark horse was expected to arrive at the dealership next week. Plugged the vin into Ford's tool and mine is affected. Just spoke to the dealer and while this is still new to them and they didn't have that much information, they suggested it will probably delay delivery. The universe really don't want me to have this car! 🥴

If this is to be believed, there is no replacing of any hardware. Its a software issue which should mean much faster resolution.

Software fix required also confirmed by Ford Authority

Relieved that it's only a firmware update, and not a hardware change.
Thanks for sharing that. :like:

Repair pal doesn't recognise Aussie VINs though. :frown:

Yeah I noticed that too. I'm purely going on the recall code and description and hoping that its correct.
