Anyone used Carpro Fabric 2.0, any issues applying to the heated/cooling sets with the perforations in the cloth?

Can it be applied with a soft detailing brush and wiped down with a MF as I dont have a suitable sponge or foam applicator in the kit bag at the moment
Is this for Darkhorse seats?

I haven't used Carpro Fabric, so check out the videos below. With these products, use them as a safety net and not a total impenetrable force field. You still need to clean and deal with spills as soon as possible, but the coating gives you a grace period and helps make cleaning easier. (You shouldn't be eating and drinking in your car by the way  )

In the second video, you will see he works the product in with his gloved hands.

I have used 303 Fabric Guard on carpet mats. I've applied that by spraying onto the carpet and agitated with a carpet brush to distribute. It's a bit heady though.

Back when I was at Waxit late last year for a polishing class with Sandro, the topic of UK detailing brands came up. As many will know, I have struggled with these brands for quite a while, so when this topic came up during the lunch session, I kinda had a lot to say. For anyone that knows me, I'm more of an observer in person, sit in the background type. So, for me to speak up about something, well that says quite a lot. I have to say, for the first time, it wasn't just me who had noticed a lack of favorable performance with these products, and I came away enlightened.............finally I had a answer to why I struggled.

So, in his latest video, Sandro delves deeper into the subject of how environmental conditions effect the performance of detailing chemicals.

From about 11min 45 -

I've been very harsh on these brands, and in my situation, probably justified. But knowing the climatic influences but also detailing philosophy differences, perhaps I have been missing something. You never stop learning.

I actually thought of you and our conversation about Trace-less when I watched this yesterday. I never thought climate would make such a big difference before you and now Sandro mentioned it. Retrospectively it makes perfect sense.

Anyone tried the locally produced Nxtzen products yet? I've been seeing them pop up in detailing videos recently but don't know much about them personally.

I haven't, but I have noticed they are garnering interest in the US.

No, but I like supporting Aussie made.

Within limits, I will happily spend more to avoid buying "Made in China", so this is no different, but compared to US pricing, Nxtzen should be a bit cheaper here than what it is.

Being a contract manufacturer, I wonder who else they make products for?

I might give their Foam Decon a try next time I need soap.
ATM though I have a self imposed spending freeze on car care products, until existing on-hand stock is run down.

You can absolutely do that. Cure is more substantial than Amplify, so the concept is, the most protective first, then layer with the least protective next. Actually, Amplify is pretty good on its own, but nothing wrong with using both.
Hey D couple of Qs around Ceramic Spray Sealants.

I've been using Cure as a sealant on my ceramic coated car, as I was given a bottle and it really is pretty easy to use and works a treat, but I was wondering how it compares to ADS Ceramic Sealant Spray. Reading the description of the ADS product it seems a little more involved to apply.

Also how often would I reapply these sprays ADS says 6 months but Cure doesn't really provide a time frame.

In between using the ceramic sealants I've been using amplify after each wash as an FYI.

Cheers

If you are using Amplify at each wash, you may not even need to use Cure as a topper to the coating. I mean, I probably would, but it wouldn't be 100% necessary as Amplify does leave some decent protection behind.

As for Cure vs ADS Ceramic Sealant -

Cure - This is a pretty old product now and probably closer to the old Carpro Reload v1. As such, I'd expect 2 months longevity at best, hence Gyeon not providing a number.

ADS CS - This is much more substantial and is supposed to last up to 6-months. It also has coating-like hydrophobics. Not that I've found Cure hard to apply, but I've found the ADS to be much easier and requires less towel work.

As for the application process for ADS, their instructions tend to cover all the bases but aren't always necessary...................................

Prep:

The Prep is the most important step of the process -

1. Decontaminate the paint surface using Armour Detail Supply Decon Soap and Iron, followed by removing further embedded contamination with a clay bar or synthetic clay mitt.

2. Use our Armour Detail Supply Panel Prep to remove any oils/residue, or old wax/sealant.
You are ready to apply Ceramic Spray Sealant!

Application:

1. Spray Ceramic Spray Sealant directly onto a microfiber towel and evenly distribute onto the desired surface, working one section at a time.

2. Utilize a clean, secondary towel to remove any excess residue.

3. This product can be applied to both wet and dry surfaces.

4. Multiple layers may be applied, with a wait time of one hour between applications.

The prep work described would be for applying as a standalone. On an existing coating, just wash as normal (perhaps with a decon soap), dry, then apply. You really shouldn't need to do more than that if the car is well maintained. If the paint feels a little crunchy during the wash, then probably do an iron decon.

For the application, I found a secondary towel was almost not needed, you will see what I mean once you start using it, the product flashes quite well meaning you can work it across the surface, flip the towel to the dry side and level it off. Repeat.

Perfect thanks D.
My bottle of Cure is almost done so I’ll give ADS CS a go…

I must admit the prep work they listed did put me off a bit, but the car gets washed every 2-3 weeks so I like your instructions much better.

cheers JP

I'd much rather the ADS approach to product descriptions and application notes. Far too many brands are vague in this department.

Hi all,

I've been getting quotes from PPF places around Sydney as I want to PPF and coat my car once it arrives. It will be my daily so figured it's worth spending the $$ to help alleviate scratches from the odd door bang, errant trolley and general stone chips (won't stop dents though!).

Here's the prices I received with some info about what they include. I've redacted the supplier names in case some of them are on here. If you want to know who they are send me a PM.

All options include prep (3 bucket wash, paint correction, clay bar etc...) and PPF of the hood vent. Not doing headlights as it can sometime be an issue, nor any tinting or the interior. I'll do the interior myself and want to see what the glass looks like before I commit to any tinting.

I'm going with the middle one, not the cheapest but he's more local to me and he did my neighbours M5 and X50M so I've seen his work already - looks pretty good and he removes badges and door handles before filming for a nicer finish. The others didn't say whether they do to this level of detail. Asked him to price match the cheaper quote and he wouldn't, but gave me a small discount.

The film warranties range from 10-12 years, the coating warranties ranged from 2-8 years. I don't believe anyone who says a ceramic coating will last 8 years. Reckon they just say that cause how is average Joe gonna be able to prove otherwise if they reject a warranty claim.

Hey Deano,

The Xpel price is in line with Qld, and it is laser cut patterns and not cut on car, there was an issue with the DH vinyls, but made decision to single piece the bonnet, so there are no blend/dust lines, have pics up on here in another post....and after 6 months it has smoothed out nicely.

The detailer I used in Brissie put Gyeon coating over the PPF, and the entire car has the PPF covering and windows were tinted via a sub company (Gyeon tint)....the headlights are also PPF'd, was a little on the fence with that but literally can't tell but I guess time will tell.
S650 Mustang Aussie S650 Paint protection and detailing thread dh2

Gyeon treated brakes and rims, and given how dirty they get in a short drive, glad I did, basically takes a soft brush wipe and all new again.

The company I used, also did the engine bay exposed paint and plastics in ceramic complimentary - was a nice surprise when I picked up the car, and after 6 months and 3100km, looks like it come straight out of the factory still, loving the no water stains even after being in the rain
S650 Mustang Aussie S650 Paint protection and detailing thread dh3

For me, it was worth the cost to protect the paint on the car, and so far have counted in excess of 50 marks on the PPF from stones and scratches, and all but 1 has self healed, if you closely at front right corner of bonnet, you will see unhealed stone mark, but from I can tell no damage below PPF, the car is not a daily driver, but when it does see the road, it is generally 500km at a time on very country roads. Did I mention that bugs just wash off?

Still got my fingers crossed you get to hold your baby sooner rather than later.
