I am currently seeing MY25 cars with delivery K's available for low to mid 80's here in Aus. What happens in the UK isn't relevant to this thread.

So, the point stands. Very hard to justify ordering a car unless you are OK with throwing 5 figures down the toilet.
And my point was if you buy a new car and sell it 12 months later of course you will lose money. If you buy a year old car and sell it a year later you will also lose a lot of money.

If you buy a new car and keep it 5 years, or buy a year old car and keep it 5 years the difference will be a lot less.

That doesn't matter what country you are in.

Meanwhile people selling a '23 Gt today might be tearing up $10k max selling and often less than that . Part of the reason i did buy a '23 instead of waiting for the S650 , that and the tablet stuck to the dash although i am sure i would have got over that . When the S650 prices were released here about 12 months after my '23 was delivered , the same spec car was $18k more on road .

Edit i will add that in early '23 a demo or second hand GT was >$5k more than new MSRP , I was just lucky enough to walk into a dealer just after someone surrendered their allocation , put down the money and had a new Mustang inside 10 weeks , probably the fastest delivery in 4 years at the time . Only downside was i couldnt pick a colour but the Dark Matter Grey was not offensive to me and looks great with the stripes

Wow just checked Build and price today and its 100k - change , gobsmacked . AUD certainly not helping that

The prices on the builder are just nuts and that's kinda my point.

If you want a specific colour with a pack and something like Magnaride then you might be struggling to find a car in stock at a good price.

But, if you are flexible on colour and just want a regular GT I think you are crazy to place an order and pay full price. So many really good deals out there for cars available now, not in 6 - 12 months.

Don't forget one of the reasons for the low depreciation on your 2023 car is the increased price on the new cars - helps to keep up the value of second hand cars.

Thats why i chose to buy a '23 car , if i knew and could have locked in a price for a S650 i may of got one but it was a raffle . Financially i made the right choice for what basically is the same car outside tablet dashes and the $20k higher price . I am happy . I did all the calculations in the S550 forum and contrary to popular opinion my guess on what the S650 would be was pretty close . AUD was dropping and we had high inflation , the S650 was always going to be a significant price rise here in Australia

No problem

Having had an S550 and an S650 there are more differences than the dash layout and the S650 is a significant improvement to me.

And those significant improvements are ? The objective ones not the subjective ones .

Interior quality is much improved, better quality materials. Engine changes, suspension changes, better Magneride calibration including pothole mitigation which actually works! Paint quality is better on my car compared to the S550. 10R80 is significantly better in change quality compared to my S550.

I agree it is a very heavy facelift not a new model but changes are significant.

New car or refresh very much depends on where you are coming from.

If you are getting out of a 2015-17 FM S550 then the S650 is very much a new car. Loads of significant changes.

If however you have a late model FN such as yourself (this is what I came from) then the S650 is a refresh. Some slight revisions and improvements along with a few cosmetic changes.

I came from the FM S550 camp, so yes, a significantly new vehicle for me, and my first car purchase in 7 years.

If you are worrying about resale on a Mustang, you probably should be looking at hybrid Toyota instead.

Thinking of a Hybrid Toyota for the wife but i keep looking at IS500 Lexus import as alternative 😎

$100k driveaway and i'd almost be there

https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/2023-lexus-is-is500-f-sport-auto/OAG-AD-25042632/
I went and looked at this car today , someone had already put a deposit on it , The fit , finish and features of this are next level compared to anything US . it's sort of perfect tbh . I think i might look into importing one , mate who lived in japan and has imported cars from there reckon its possible to get this around $90k driveaway complied on my doorstep compared to the $110k driveaway on the blue one . Anyway my buddy is in town this week and i will get him to fill me in on the pros and cons . This in link is fully loaded with Levinson sound , Sun roof and i think Real woodgrain features . Possible forever car with a bit of luck , Lexus most reliable car you can buy and i think Toyota pulling plug in V8s soon

Kinda agree with the sentiment Brisvegas. I'm becoming more compelled by the option of an RCF or IS500 import. The S650 is simply too much money for the product which overall I see as a minor step backwards from the S550.

They need to offer more tangible improvements such as 360 degree camera to actually make use of the new screen realestate for something practical as opposed to cost-cutting measures disguised as improvements/features.

And don't even get me started on the holes in the wheel well coverings.

Thanks for the link. I'll check it out.

The 360 degree view from overhead, bird's eye view, on my wife's Explorer ST is great when backing up or checking to be sure I am centered in a parking space. I was surprised when my Dark Horse did not do the same thing.
