How in the heck can you be the “most awarded brand for new vehicle quality” while at the same time have the most recalls and stop sales of any new vehicle? They should be ashamed of themselves for posting that with a photo of the Mustang nobody can buy.

Posting for a friend…

🤣🤦‍♂️

Camaro, Challenger, Charger (excluding new electric) and the old Barracuda, Cougar and Firebirds all gone.

...it's a short list.

At least for cars I can afford, anyway.

Because J. D. Power was paid to give out awards on everything. Unbiased is always....biased.

How about the current GM V8 recall going on right now? Wonder what they will get an award for? It means 600,000 vehicles essentially ruined and not even sellable right now. Increasing their oil viscosity from 20W to 0W-40 is not exactly going to work out too well. GM can't give away a V8 right now. That one is perhaps the most damaging recall in my lifetime that I remember.

Separately, some forums are offering AI and it doesn't do anything to impress me in that context.

Some recalls are just software updates. My wife’s Lincoln has a recall for power windows, just needs a software update done while in for regular service. And yes it’s officially labelled a “recall”.

But I feel for those who ordered and paid for a car and can’t take delivery for something that MIGHT happen. That sucks.

When I see awards from outfits like that, or Canstar down here, I always wonder who's paying the piper.
OK, I'm cynical and sceptical. I'm a cynisceptic, if you will. But I think there's more valuable info from some forums. Provided they're about good cars with intelligent people, like here.

What I've never understood is, why car manufacturers think the public gives a shit about made up awards. It's right up there with four out of five dentists recommend this toothpaste.

This is the Jim Farley Ford era. Recalls, recalls, and more recalls.

Ford had a recall problem well before Jim Farley.
So Jim Farley has failed to fix Ford. Sounds like he needs to go. Companies should be looking to improve, not stay the same or worse.

It's INITIAL QUALITY.. So how good is the car when you buy it and not how good is the car a year later when the recalls start. That being said, I'm kind of surprised because usually the boutique brands like Rolls and so forth do really well on surveys like this and mostly because people paying $300k for a car are generally reluctant to admit the car is a POS. In general though, sadly the level of quality across the board has cratered. GM has serious issues with their 6.2L. Chrysler has issues with it's 5.7l hemi. Even Toyota is recalling cars/trucks for engines blowing up. Then there is Nissan and their time bomb CVT trannys. And of course who can forget Kia/Hyundai engines self destructing. And there are many more.... Pretty sad IMHO.
