If sales volume were the sole criterion, the 1923 Model T, with 2,011,125 units sold, would outshine the 2024 Mustang. However, today’s car market offers nearly a hundred options, and the Mustang stands out with its loyal fanbase. Everywhere I drive my Mustang, it draws attention—people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds stop to admire it and talk about Ford’s latest innovations.

Fact: In 2024, the Mustang sold 44,003 units, surpassing the Corvette’s 33,330, making it the best-selling sports car in the United States.

The base price of a Corvette is more than double the base price of a Mustang... and really, comparing a Corvette to a Mustang is absurd. There is no $30k 4 cyl Corvette and that is a large percentage of Mustang sales. The reality is that most Mustang owners (not all) cannot afford a Corvette. If I had the resources, I'd have both because the Mustang is a more comfortable, usable DD. But since I don't, I have a F150 which is comfortable, usable and boring.

It's a fair comparison. Basically the same price as a dark horse premium

Still not a fair comparison. 2seater w/ a frunk and a 1LZ doesn’t even have blind spot monitors vs a 4 seater with lite self driving abilities.

Also the Corvette is faster...
Add a Whipple for 12K, My 810 HP Mustang is still cheaper and much faster tan the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette with a 6.2-liter LT2 V8 engine produces only 495 horsepower. I agree that, they're bot American made 8 cylinder sports cars. what could be more fun? Bowling Green vs Flat Rock. Win-Win.

I think everybody is looking at the wrong numbers. Instead of how many sold, everybody should be looking at profits made.

Profit made on 1% of sales? Sorry, unless they are making 1000% profit per car the amount is pointless. Actually if it was 10x that it would still be pointless. Other than looking good for the bean counters on a balance sheet it means nothing. Sales and profit have no bearing on keeping our Mustang alive. If there was the 7th gen would have never seen daylight.
