Anyway to disable Android Auto when connecting phone?

I've tried with a couple phones to connect to my '24. Between the car and droid, they keep bringing up Android Auto. Even uninstalling, disabling AA in droid, droid still tries to bring it up. ARGH

I'd rather leave big brother behind and still be able to get calls on my car like with the old Sync.

Anyone know if & how to get past Android Auto?

you can disable Android Auto by going into Settings > Phone List in SYNC. you will then see three icons to the right of each device's name. the two icons on the left are for calls and audio. the rightmost icon is for Android Auto. when the Android Auto icon is on, the other two will be greyed out. turning off the Android Auto icon will make SYNC only use your phone for calls and audio, and will also open up the option to disable one or both of the other features too. as far as i can tell, this setting change does persist through key cycles

Alternatively to Roket's advice, you can turn off wireless app projection in the car's settings to prevent Android Auto as long as you're not connected via USB.

I guess the next test will be to see whether Ford has improve the in car microphone for convertible use over my former '11 GT!

OK, thanks again for the advice... looks like DroidAuto is successfully bannished.

Unfortunately, it looks like the car microphones are no better at working with the roof down than they were in 2011. :/
