Anyone's Car Stuck At New Boston?

Mine was transported from FRAP to New Boston on 8/18. Left New Boston on a CSX train on 8/21. Arrived in Jacksonville, Florida on 8/26. Delivered to my dealer in South Georgia 8/31 (the day after Hurricane Idalia came through). This was the first Mustang delivery to my small dealer and it included my order as well as a dealer stock order of a convertible GT.

Yes there is no first come first serve in this situation. You cannot even make the argument that the rail yard was waiting on enough cars to fill a train for my destination because that has already happened. The car I ordered left the plant on 6-26 and here it is mid September with it still in Michigan.

I agree; I don't understand it. I ordered my car 6/21 and it was delivered 8/31, but I know a lot of people like you who ordered in March are still waiting.

Have you tried contacting the carrier? I've thought about it but haven't.

With it sitting at the New Boston railyard, I have no idea of anyone to contact. Neither does my dealer. I thought about posting a thread on this forum to see if anyone knows anyone that may work at the New Boston railyard. If I could find someone that worked there, I would gladly give my VIN to see if the car could be found.

My tracker didn't update. The only thing that updated was the ETA was pushed back again.

I think what happened is Ford built a lot of Mustangs before the OKTB was reached. In doing so, Ford stacked early cars like mine at the railyards before the OKTB. Well New Boston handles many cars and I am sure they had to shove cars that could not be shipped out well out of the way. So once OKTB was reached, I can only imagine CSX was not so inclined to hurry up and dig these cars back out. CSX is not Ford and their real estate is valuable...and I can imagine the rail yard was not happy about making room for cars that could not ship out immediately. So the problem is logistical for sure, but I theorize there may be some hardball being played too.

Just checked with Ford chat and they gave me a railcar number. If you guys were in the same boat that i was then it shouldn't be long.

when did your car get to new boston and when did it leave?

Mine is stuck in twin oaks which is about two hours away from me. I could’ve walked there and back several times over by now.
