How hard is replacing a 2024 hood without screwing it up and breaking/scratching the paint? Is it doable.... Asking for a friend without any freinds..

It's a job I'd turnover to a body shop. They work with these parts daily, understand how to attach, adjust and have the tools and materials to make cosmetic corrections.

I wouldn't consider doing it, by self or with friends. If by self, it be incredible awkward to move an object like that without damaging it. If with a group of friends, they'd be looking to me for directions and guidance (I haven't replaced a hood before), or worse, one or more thinks they know a better way, with struggle and confusion ensuing.

The aluminum hood isn't that heavy, but it is BIG and awkward. So it is pretty hard to handle alone while trying to reach across the car and avoid dropping one side or edge. Getting, and keeping, it aligned when installing alone will be tough.

Like @JimC said; big and awkward! VERY high risk of hood, quarter panel, windshield, engine, or nose clip damage! DO NOT try it by yourself!

Minimum; 2 person job (it'll still be very challenging). 3 would be better (1 on each side and 1 up front).

If it were me; I'd got @Skye's route and have a trusted body shop do it for me.

Best of luck!

It’s not the weight it’s the size, that makes it a min two person job. Lifting aint so bad but holding the span while attempting to aligning the holes can become progressively problematic the longer it takes.

Very very hard, if not impossible without a lift or some type of overhead to help maneuver and position into place.
