I agree with all you said, it all comes down to the intended usage, for a daily street fun car, the GT is a cost effective V8 fun with neat tech features. For a competitive track oriented ride, DH will probably live longer and be more consistent.
Agreed. And im not trying to poo poo the Dark Horse. Its a great track car. But its not substantially different from GT PP, and Id argue the separation is not enough to justify the price tag. If the name and the check you wrote makes you feel more special then so be it. I traded my Mach 1 because I was daily driving it and realized how impractical it was. My GT is much more enjoyable on the street.

The suspension on the PP GT and non HP DH is identical. Both have magnaride.
At least for 2026, the GT Performance package and MagneRide are two separate options as is the Active Exhaust:
  • GT Performance Pack: $5660
  • MagneRide: $1750
  • Active Exhaust: $1595

All three are included on the DH along with the $700 Anti-Theft Package and the $1150 B&O sound system, which is why a optioned GT starts to approach the price of the DH anyway.

My point was about the suspension comparison though. I was commenting about the previous posters assertion that the DH suspension was significantly upgraded. It is not.

It is from the point of view of tuning and the fact that you have to explicitly add MageneRide as an option to get it on the GT; it is not included with the GT Performance Package.

Yes, I know that. Again, my point is that both suspensions are the same. I wasn't talking price or option differences.

The Dark Horse is just a more special car than the GT. Period… just like the Mach 1 was.
For me, I like the front and rear looks, badging, interior, limited edition. Tremec transmission .
Daily driving it is just as comfortable as GT.
All this crap saying it’s the same is just silly and maybe jealousy for whatever reason you didn’t pony up the money to get one.
The GT is an awesome car too, don’t get me wrong but it’s not a Dark Horse.

It is a special car. Though how much is in the eye of the beholder. Im personsinally not a fan of the name, badges, or styling compared to the Mach 1. But none of that was my argument, and im not disparaging anyone does like it. They are great cars. I was just pointing out the suspension comparisons as a response to another poster saying they were significantly different.

Now you of all people know darn well from the 6G forums how SOME Mach 1 owners acted like pretentious A-holes when they didn't even know the actual differences of two cars, nor did they track them as they where intended. Im starting to get those vibes here too. Saying people are jealous because they didn't pay the extra money is just lame take. So dont paint everyone with that brush. I could have paid cash for one if I wanted too and I passed.

So are you saying MagneRide is different from the suspension?

It is the same only if you have ordered MagneRide on your GT; the GT doesn't come with MagneRide by default or with the Performance Package, you have to specifically option it, which means pretty much only ordered vehicles have it.

The DH models include it.

I said maybe jealousy man. To each their own.
You seem hell bent on proving why the GT is just as good to justify your decision.
I honestly don’t care which car you or anyone else choses to buy.
Personally I wouldn’t have paid a cent over what I paid for either my Mach 1 or Dark Horse as I think the pricess have become stupid.
Just here to give my opinions when people ask as I’ve had 3 different models/transmissions, new mustangs since 2015.

Dude. I know its a seperate option. 🤦

Let me rewrite my original post so you can understand-

The GTPP WITH MAGNARIDE is the same as the DH suspension. Better? 🤣

Much better, it makes it clear when people say the GT is the same as the DH.

The DH suspension is also tuned differently than the GT with MagneRide, but many of the actual parts numbers may be the same between the two.

Nope. It is not "tuned differently". Both magnaride systems are the same if thats what you are getting at. The "tuning" is marketing speak that Ford has been using since the Mach 1 was released and simply refers to the alignment specs.
