Ambient light is better on the S550

It's all about priorities. Sadly for some, their priorities are questionable at best.

I thought this at first as well but after driving my car at night the whole console is a black hole so if you need to grab something that's in a cup holder it can be a PITA, it's not that big of a deal but it's more then just the shinny colors. Also my S550 had it so it's a slight disappointment.

My 2011 has the drink cup holders lit. I didn't buy my 24 just for drink holders. In some instances too many interior accent lights can be a distraction.

So I wonder why they made the ambient lighting worse on the S650.

Instead of making it better, now they removed the ambient light in the cupholders.

It was a nice touch to have ambient light on the cup holders to see where your cups are and just for the nice lights.

But yep, they removed them on the S650 for some reason :(

Wonder if there is a way to add this by using some parts from the S550.

What I also saw was you can't toggle the brightness level of the screens on your dash. There is just 1 brightness level. So during the night.

During night time driving sometimes I prefer to make the screens less bright. But the S650 does not have this option.

Are you sure?
I believe the ambient lighting you can dim or make brighter on the touchscreen?
I will have to check it out tomorrow, but I believe the dash lights and the ambient lighting are both controlled on the touch screen?
