no, lol.

Its all part of the discussion, and it already ended.

Its a public forum, and we're talking about exhausts.

No. It's two pages of you two having a side argument about back pressure, and no one cares.

One thing I've learned here is that you'll go down the rabbit real quick if you engage with Zig on anything. Best to let it go.

Under half+ throttle, there was definitely a difference, but nothing like I expected. I was expecting quiet to be - well, super quiet.
It was still nice and rumbly. But even track mode (which I'm assuming is wide open) - it was only moderately louder.

I think you must be half deaf to think Track Mode is only moderately louder than Quiet Mode.

It is annoyingly loud.

Quiet Mode 72 dB
Track Mode 86 dB

Driving at Track Mode all day would be risky for hearing, as 86 dB for 8 hours is risky for hearing

3dB is a doubling of the intensity of the power level, so 72 - 75 is double, 78 is double again, 81 is double again, and you almost double twice more before you get to Track Mode. That is a huge difference in intensity, not like 72% to 86%, because it is not linear but logarithmic.

Even though 3dB is twice the sound intensity, the human ear perceives roughly 10 dB to be double, or so I read on Google (lol). Nevertheless, even by that measure Track Mode should be perceived as more than double.

I suggest you start driving in Track Mode or Drag Mode and, as you drive forward about 20-30 feet, stomp the gas to get a quick moving burnout, high rpm blast and tell me if that is not loud as hell right then (possibly amplified by your car's speakers, lol). It is disturbingly loud when you do this. Try it.

You guys arguing about performance in different exhaust modes, can't you just open the Track Apps and see if there is a measurable difference?

This is a simple issue to me. The exhaust sound is what it is and I bought my car because it is what it is. But, not everyone, of course, feels that way or the mod sellers wouldn't be in business.

This car has amazing sound isolation with the windows up. Track Exhaust mode at cruising speed is barely heard. Get on it, and it’s a noticeable snarling rumble, but not uncomfortable to my hearing.

This 86db rating is taken at the tailpipe, but inside the car is much quieter. That’s a big difference in db between those 2 locations.

Iso 5130 = half a meter and 45 degree angle

California requires a measurement straight on with the tailpipe.

That’s why I think there’s more at play than just a more open exhaust flap…lol.

Getting a new Mustang was exciting as hell! I encourage you to download the owners manual

https://www.fordownersmanual.org/2025-ford-mustang/#google_vignette

Read as much as you can absorb, then when you get the car, sit there while parked and go

Um… if 86 db is dangerous … dont sit in my home theater. Over 120db and that’s when I only had three speakers and a small 13” sub 🤣
