Airbags are controlled by the RCM. Nothing you did there would prevent the airbags from deploying.

Unlike some people here, I see nothing wrong with making some tweaks to the modules to personalize one's experience with the vehicle they purchased. As long as you make a back-up to restore default settings, feel free to experiment away.

If you didn't make a back up, go here before the changes you made sync up with the server, pull your ab from Ford and all your factory values will be there for you to restore if needed:

i think it's my fault that's spread. i said that a while ago and it turned out to be wrong. the IPC just displays the status of the seatbelts. the actual buckles go right to the RCM as you said.

but i totally agree with the customization thing. i've changed many things on mine to make the experience better and don't regret it one bit. i especially like the performance shift indicator

Rugedraw <That is good to know about the seatbelts thank you. Do you have an idea about when the modules sync up with the server? My question is if I changed something a few months ago, I can just change it back and then that will become the new "default" at Fords server side? So no issues with that? It will just keep syncing ect?

No idea. The only thing that I know sync the vehicle up for sure is an OTA. Also, removing the vehicle from the Ford app and re-adding it is believed to force the vehicle to sync, but I have never tested it to make sure. It will eventually sync, but I have no idea what event actually triggers that to happen.

Edit: I also know that Ford engineers can send a ping to a specific vehicle and if that gets done, the next time the vehicle is started, it will sync with the mothership.
