Hello everyone, I am the future owner of the S650 Mustang GT. It's nice to get to know you all. As my first car, I noticed the Ford Pass software and have already selected the 401A. May I ask if the Ford Pass uses a mobile phone to remotely start the car, no matter how far away I am from this car? Besides, what other special features does Fordpass have? Thank you!

Yes, you can remotely start the car, I don't believe the distance matters. You can see the location of your car as an address or on a map, the tire pressures, the gasoline level, how many "points" you have with Ford, your oil life, you can also update your service info there or see what Ford has added. A bunch of other stuff, too.

Thank you very much for your answer. I feel much more at ease now because the winter in my place of residence is too cold. I want to start the car in advance to get better engine life.

You can remote start the car using the app but to drive it you have to have the key fob with you, I learned that the hard way lol but the app is very useful. I used it to set a schedule for the car to automatically start 10 minutes before I leave for work and it works perfectly every day.

Just to be sure, only the Autos get remote start.

You can remote start the car from anywhere in the world. I have been in South Carolina and started my truck that was in Las Vegas, NV.

You can also schedule starts at specific times and days.

I have three fords with the ford pass app. They forced an update on me. In the old app when i asked for location it would show me the location a long time ago. If I swiped down it would update to the minute. In the updated app it still shows me the location from 1/2 hour to hours ago. If I refresh the location it does not help. The Ford Pass app is no longer of use to me.

It has nothing to do where I am parked all three fords I own I need to know where they are on the road. The update to to ford pass took that away from me. What if one of my fords are stolen? I would never be able to track them.

Interesting/strange. The new Ford app updates the location of my car immediately when I refresh. Just as an example, when I had my car at the Ford dealer the other day and was sitting in their waiting area, I could check the location on the app and see when the car moved into the service bay, even which part of the service area, and then when they moved it out and into the area for me to pick it up.

Remember that the car must have cell network connection to receive the command and to transmit the location to you. It must also have clear access to GPS signals to determine its location. If it’s in a garage with a metal roof, in a parking garage with multiple levels above it, etc, then the location will probably not update immediately and it may show an older location.

if my car is stolen I can track it with the Ford app or using the AirTag that I also have in my car.

I’ve done that too from North Carolina to our Home in Friendswood (south of Downtown Houston) Tx and when our neighbor was near the garage door checking over the house, I started my car!! It scared the SH1T out of her because she knew that we were out of town!! She IMMEDIATELY called my Wife to tell her about that!! My Wife told her that I did that!!!

It would be wise to invest in a backup plan for tracking your vehicle in the tragic event that it does get “removed” from your last known location. I have a couple of AirTags in my Strang and have them in various places, out of site at that. These thieves nowadays are good at disabling the Factory GPS to not let the vehicle be tracked in the traditional sense. Coworker just had his truck stolen from the Plant parking lot and they disabled his OnStar and secondary kill switch. He never got it back and they knew to unhook the battery so it wouldn’t ping the GM Servers. How frustrating that was for him.

I just used the Ford app for the first time in a week. It must have updated itself since then. It looks completely different and the location is now accurate up to the minute.

2024 gt conv, rapid red and carmine interior. 10sp auto. 401a and factory optional wheels.
