503 HP

I just got this 2024 GT Premium last week. On the lower door is a decal that says "S650 503HP" I thought the GT with optional exhaust system put out 486 HP and only the Dark Horse had 503 HP. Was the former owner daydreaming, or am I missing something?

Wouldn't be the first time GT/Dark Horse parts got mixed up during assembly. Someone posted here a few months back about other parts being mismatched from the factory.

Either that's a part mismatch or someone is just having fun with decals. Better take it to the track and find out for yourself! (or put it on a dynamometer if you have access to one, but that's not as fun)

I don't believe there's any parts from Ford with "S650" or horsepower numbers stamped on it. Sounds like an Anchor Room type custom sticker. Maybe the previous owner actually did some performance mods though! A set of headers could get the HP around that level.

I'm taking it into Ford next week or so for a recall and will see if there is any indication of modifications.

Car max usually does a significant inspection.

was it sold “as is” or with the remaining OEM warranty? IF NO MANUFACTURER WARRANTY, did you buy an extended?

it’s a catch-22 situation. If you asked ford to confirm warranty, then they may void it if they find something.

carmax has a 10 full refund return policy if you’re worried.

hopefully it’s just a pep boys type thst thought adding the plaque would impress people without actually doing anything to the car.

its clear the car has been modified by the previous owner (those stripes arent factory). my guess is someone had a shop do some work on it and added a little show plaque for making over 500hp
