Shop swapped the actuators over and they dont move when I took it home. Engine light was also on. The passenger side valve worked but the driver side doesnt move. Once the car figures that out it shows engine light and gives code for exhaust valve B. Brought it back and they said they checked it over and did everything that was instructed to do so. Being the light was on when I left they said they're 99% sure I need a new actuator. But the car is only 13k miles. Why would I need a new one? Did they break it while trying to install it?
They said they have done active exhaust before and thats the only reason they think it doesnt work. Main point is do I really need to buy a new actuator?

I'm trying to understand why it wouldn't be covered under the warranty?!

Its a new exhaust so I figured they'd say the shop did something or it doesnt qualify being it was being put on an aftermarket exhaust. Ive seen some people say that. Not willing to pay 200$ for them to look at it and tell me it doesnt quality. Also the only ford dealership near me where I got the car sucks ass sooo.

The dealership probably won't cover it, since you added the Flowmaster mufflers.

Have you reached out to Flowmaster to see what they say about this?

I would hate to swap out the actuator only to discover that it was not bad. You wrote, "They checked it over and did everything that was instructed to do so." If it is doing everything it is instructed to do, then why would it be bad?

But you said it was not moving, so it sounds like we have two different observations about what it is and is not doing. Who is correct?

Apparently they thought i said the engine light was on before I got there not when I left their business. So thats why they thought it was bad. We've both done alot of research and main thing is improper installation and you should feel tension. He agreed and said they barely had any on the passenger side and that one works. So I guess they're gonna try Monday to turn it in more or something. Basically make sure there is tension when doing it

Try to open the valves with your fingers to see if they move freely. Temperature variations will sometimes make them stick not enabling the valves to open amd close freely causing a check engine light.

They were moving freely before hooking them up and they revved the car manual closing them and opening them. I guess they didnt feel like using the buttons inside lol

I might be losing confidence in these guys and looking for somebody with more experience.

This is also why I suggested reaching out to Flowmaster. They may have seen this same failure 350 times, and a phone call might get a tech who says, "Oh, yeah, that is the result of installing them this way, and here is what you need to do to fix it."
