That flexible funnel might be OK, but the advert/production company should use new/clean oil for the demo! If I caught a tech poring black/dirty oil like that into my GT; I'd have to come out of my Marmot Bag and bite 'em on their ankle!

Pretty sure he was talking about draining, not filling.

Personally, for draining I'm going to do the glad plastic bag trick.

Anyone tried that method for draining?

I let everything drain from the pan and didn't get too much out of the filter. It's enough to make a mess though. I used a pizza box because I was too lazy to clean up. The filter, folded box and my gloves went into a bag. Heck, of you use a glad bag, you have your disposal ready to go.

Save yourself a little headache in the future and replace the fir tree type plastic fasteners with the removable center type... you'll thank me later.

Strakes need not be removed, just slide the cover out from under them.

If you want to replace the “fir tree type” (perfect name btw) here’s the part number on the 4 pack. For me, they haven’t come out intact ever over the last 2 plus years.

So ridiculous that they use those laughable disposable fasteners, and then tons of re-useable screws (and then also a different re-useable fastener) for the other parts of the
1 same removable panel (which by the way serves no useful purpose aero dynamically since it is so flimsy and certainly not because it is physically protective).

Almost like an engineering prank on the customer - "so you want to do your own oil changes?, Well then ...... have fun..."

Honestly, it's like Mercedes AMG: they seem to want to discourage self-oil changes (or any other self-service maintenance items) and direct all services to the dealership.

I encourage any Ford designer or engineer or anyone else to chime in on this.

Besides this, I absolutely love the car...

I expect the cover does provide some aerodynamic benefit, and it does a good job of keeping the engine clean. Keeping water and dirt from splashing up on the bottom of the engine alone is worth having the panel in my opinion. Once you’ve removed it the first time it’s really not a hassle. Start to finish is probably less than two minutes to get the panel off.

The broken fasteners are a pain. Mine usually last 5-6 removals before breaking, but I keep some spares. I’ve also had some of the nuts that attach to the frame break as well, so I keep a bag of those handy too.
