I don’t mean to be argumentative but if it were “just a production error” as you say, wouldn’t it stand to reason that Ford would have noticed it by now? And subsequently corrected it if it had the potential to do significant harm? It just doesn’t seem logical to me to think otherwise.
That could be true, but let us be honest. We are talking about Ford. They have a certain reputation around the world and I think unless it is not safety related and just harm the color or cause rust, they won't do jack about it. From another thread, this hole already existed in the S550, but they widened it for the S650 for whatever reason.

@roadpilot .....your engineer is entitled to his opinion.
THE Ford engineer - who was THE lead aerodynamics engineer for the S650 - and HIS boss are 'entitled to thier own opinions'?

I thought I had heard it all ... until I read that.

The best aspect of a democracy is that its people have the right to free speech and this has been exercised on this thread, thanks to this great forum. Owners now have access to both sides of a discussion and have plenty of information to decide whether to leave the holes open or close them and that is the true strength of this forum.
I called you out for the clearly false statement claiming "Ford corporate has, so far, been unwilling to comment." Freedom of speech has no bearing on that.

First wash since I got it .
She’s all Cleaned up, in and outside.
all the spray on the interior after tints and fingerprints on the outside after the ppf.
Even cleaned up the engine bay.
Man she looks good!
Interesting to see all the new lines in the s650 while washing.
Need to go to a prettier spot for better pics but kinda ugly in Chicago in March.

Great looking Dark Horse. Just curious what method and cleaners you use to clean under the engine bay?

Beautiful car! I really like the black accents! The exterior of these cars looks really nice, but I just can't get past the interior look, especially the iPad dash.

Thank you!
Have you sat in a premium yet and connected your phone? I hated before I did and I had to eat my words

I did sit in one and test drive it. I'm not of a phone guy honestly, so I didn't try that out. I'm sure it works fine, but I wish they had integrated the screens into the dash more. Ultimately I went in another direction, but I still love the mustangs!

I had a 2020 gt premium with the pp and 10 spd auto. It was a great car in many aspects with state of art at the time, EXCEPT for the woefully under developed 10 spd auto, just like you experienced in your 2021 Mach 1.
After 3 yrs and 5 months, 13000 miles, multiple trips to different dealers to get resolution, I said F %%% this, and took it down to a different dealer out of town and traded it in on a 2024 gt premium S650 with a 10 spd auto,
Like you, I seriously thought of going to the 6 spd manual and would have gone to the Dark Horse to get the Tremec if I went that route.
The S650 10 spd auto has been completely improved and all that miserable behavior present in the S550 is gone. Smooth as can be, no heaving and bucking, awesome quick rev matching upshifting and down shifting and when you drive it in auto just driving around, it drives like a Caddy.
Best decision I ever made to upgrade to the 2024 S650. If however, it starts acting up, then I'm done with the 10 spd auto. That said, with 1200 miles, everything works perfectly on the vehicle, including the tranny.
My wife has 22 GT with PP1 package. We had the same horrible lurching in gears 1st thru 3rd. She was coming up on 3 years warrant expiration. The Ford technicians had to replace the Main Transmission control unit and a few other transmission parts, but the lurching is completely gone.
For anyone having this issue, they can fix it prior to end of warranty. I believed the resolved the issue late in 2022, but this can be fixed.

Good write up @ChitownStang. I followed this in the 6g forum as well.

I went from 2015 GT premium auto, to 2023 M1 Tremec, and just a week ago, went to a 2024 GT premium auto.

So very similar cars, but we were opposite on transmissions. I agree with most of your statements. The M1 is a very special car, and it was a difficult choice to move on from mine, especially looks wise. In my case it was my daily driver and I just got tired of the shifting and the stiff ride. I fell in love with the looks and name, but in hind sight it just wasn't what I wanted out of a DD. It would have been a different matter entirely if it were my second car. But I already have my 66 mustang as my toy car and wasnt about to buy a 3rd.

I got sucked into the S650 hate when they came out. But once I saw them in person and actually drove them, it was obvious how much more smooth and polished they drive compared to the S550. Plus that interior is a huge upgrade, I dont car what people say about the screens. And with the gen 4 Coyote, it's every bit as fast if not more so than my M1 Tremec.

Sorry to hear you had trans problems in your M1. I believe prior to the revision, the 10R80 was pretty hit-or-miss miss and getting one definitely gave me pause at first. I definitely feel like the M1 A10 programming was terrible. I drove an '22 auto M1 and hated it. The A10 in my '24 shifts like butter and feels very different from that M1 auto I drove. It doesn't hold shifts too long, doesn't hunt for gears, isnt jerky, and down shifts well in a non obtrusive way. I strongly suspect Ford made a transmission program revision for the S650.

Hey Ryan, good to see a familiar face around here!
Totally get why a manual could be a pain as a DD especially in traffic.
It is funny how this S650 looks so much better in person, especially the interior. Pics look horrible but man is it an upgraded interior over the S550 and the screens work very well still for me.
I also agree the chassis is very different, much more composed in corners, handles bumps much better and is more insulated from suspension jarring. Very happy with it but it is bordering on too refined...lol
Glad you are enjoying your 10-speed and not experiencing what I did, hopefully Ford actually did try to improve it 7 years later. The 10-speed is definitely faster, that's for sure!
Got any pics?

I just got it tinted and it's filthy from all the blowing dust we've had. It's getting a proper detail this weekend.

Great color / wheel combo!
I had a M2 built with same combo before going DH.
Tints and front ppf, and side reflector diy tints is all I’ve done so far.
H-pipe , high flow filters and carbon traps removal tomorrow on jack stands
