First RHD S650 Mustang Spied Wearing Red Tail Lamps and Other Changes

Maybe the car has to be somewhere by April 17th!

S650 RIGHT HAND DRIVE MUSTANG PROTOTYPE SPOTTED TESTING

The Australian Supercar taillights have been referred to in this thread. They were said to be bespoke in a video I watched a while back. I presume they meant both the housing and the lens.

    Black Rear Decklid

Real-life black deck, lid, albeit on an Australian Supercar: And a couple of other general angles, just for interest sake.

All-New Ford Mustang (S650) GT Supercars Race Car Revealed at Bathurst 1000

The cars acquire pretty severe damage during the racing, but sometimes continue racing on, so the extra bonnet pins are just a safety precaution. The James Courtney Tickford Mustang damage is an example here:

All-New Ford Mustang (S650) GT Supercars Race Car Revealed at Bathurst 1000

It is still early days, so there is not much other than these videos that cover the parity procedures with some dyno footage, so turn up the volume! @SINBUSTER007 there is a fresh rumour that Supercars may be on the support card for a US Formula 1 race meeting, post-2023. Supercars did...

All-New Ford Mustang (S650) GT Supercars Race Car Revealed at Bathurst 1000

Here is the first real, racing S650 Mustang race car in the world, I think I can safely say. Just now revealed at the Bathurst 1000 race week. It will do a handful of demonstration laps of the Mount Panorama circuit before going through a parity testing process to be equalised with the Camaro...

"Running with the herd" sound clip preview -- likely from next gen Mustang GT3, GT4 or Australian Supercar

Here is the Australian Supercar S550 based Mustang prototype, Aluminator based, stroked to 5.4, sequential transaxle gearbox with straight cut dog gears, could be the sound clip Twin Turbo posted. Most likely the to be the first 7th Gen race Mustang to surface as they need to do aero parity...

    More speculative S650 renders

I hope these havenā€™t appeared here already, just posted on this Australian website: https://www.drive.com.au/news/2024-ford-mustang-rendered/ I quite like it, particularly the rear end:

Official: S650 Mustang Debuts September 14 at Detroit Auto Show 2022!

Yes, but they still largely portray the overall style of the front and rear end of the production Mustang at least. The bits in between perhaps not so much. Curiously, I canā€™t find any hint of NASCAR updating to S650 in 2023. The Australian Supercar Mustangs will be much more life like, if...

Official: S650 Mustang Debuts September 14 at Detroit Auto Show 2022!

This local Australian article has just reminded me that I will have to stay awake until the early hours of the 15th to see the debut live; I am hoping it will be worth it: https://www.whichcar.com.au/news/2024-ford-mustang-confirmed Renders of the S650 in 2023 Supercar race form should follow...

Would Ford really do a short model run at great expense in the middle of the Northern Hemisphere winter? How many people would buy a car in cold months, especially when an all new model is imminent? Here in Australia the new 2023 Mustang Supercar race car is still being touted as being the S650...

The S650 as a race car

Unlike the current Supercar Mustang and the NASCAR Mustang, the new generation bodywork of Supercars have to be virtually identical to the road going car, except below the the bumper bar (mid point). The bodywork below there needs to be bespoke for racing purposes, so is unlikely to closely...

The S650 as a race car

Unofficial Australian Supercar Mustang rendering; probably not based on any inside information, but who knows. I wouldnā€™t be unhappy if it looked like this though, better looking than most renderings I have seen so far, although I prefer the mean look of the recessed headlights of the S550...

    Interior Discussion

Definitely agree with Paulā€™s comment re ā€˜twin browā€™, thatā€™s non-negotiable! And I hope for minimal touch controls; too hard to use when bouncing along bumpy roads. Less cheap looking/feeling materials would be nice, and certainly less squeaks and rattles. Both my FM and FN models have been bad...

S650 7G Ford Mustang V8 confirmed for Australia - manual gearbox in doubt.

There was more future Ford news released in Australia during a media preview, so maybe the Mustang news came out then. Here it is, (more good news for Ranger and Ford Australiaā€˜s engineering operation, the leader of the Ranger program)...

S650 7G Ford Mustang V8 confirmed for Australia - manual gearbox in doubt.

The article was released on April 1, April Foolsā€™ Day, but looks genuine. Right-hand drive Mustangs will survive! Manual gearbox fans might be disappointed though, unless the reference was for the Australian market only...

Good news for Mustang via Jim Farley: ICE business will focus around Bronco & Mustang

Thereā€™s no such thing as a carbon neutral vehicle. Quite a lot of power is required to produce hydrogen, so all the vehicle does is transfer the emissions from the actual vehicle to the power station that fuels hydrogen production. The same goes for electric vehicles, and more carbon is emitted...
