  1. What will it take to save the V8 Mustang?

Yes I want the 7G to be awesome and I'm definitely looking forward to learning about it. I hope that it will be great and that I will want to buy one. But to be honest, I will be pleasantly surprised if the 7G Mustang is better than what I already own. I don't really expect it based on the...
  2. 2024 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Potentially Spotted Testing With Current Model

Right. I agree. The hard sales numbers are the Mach E sold fewer than the Ford Edge, which people say is doing poorly and people are speculating that Ford will discontinue it. So, while you say it's selling well - the hard numbers do not say that. Well of course the Mach E is not anything...
  3. What will it take to save the V8 Mustang?

I felt like you implied that we would have to switch because the supply is limited. In reality the supply is essentially unlimited. We will not use it up in the easily foreseeable future. I don't think in reality we will be out of oil in 350 years. What might happen is the cost to extract...
  4. What will it take to save the V8 Mustang?

So far every year since oil was discovered the supply of oil has increased, because we have found more methods to extract it from the ground. The last I checked the supply was about 350 years. If we slow down in usage, it will last longer. Can you show me where 50 years is coming from? That...
  5. 2024 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Potentially Spotted Testing With Current Model

Hybrid would be like a Hellcat, not a road racer. You can't add useful motors and batteries and associated hardware without increasing weight significantly. Have you driven a Mustang? They are understeer city. Of course they make big power so they CAN oversteer under power. However, S550...
  6. What will it take to save the V8 Mustang?

I have a bit of a nit to pick with your post. The US and Europe are moving away from fossil fuels, not the world. The world will continue to consume fossil fuels no matter what the US and Europe do.
  7. Chevrolet Confirms an Electric Corvette Is Coming, and It's AWD

Here we go 4,000 lb all aluminum Corvette. Progress?
  8. What will it take to save the V8 Mustang?

I could see some car companies going out of business. Yes, there are people who will buy the modern day Pintos and Chevettes they are getting ready to churn out, but I think quite a few people are going to balk. Maybe I can't control whether Mercedes or any other company continues to build...
  9. What will it take to save the V8 Mustang?

Can we get back on topic? Some of us like V8 engines and I don't think this thread was started as a "benefits of EV" thread. People can go on the Mach E forums and talk about how great their EVs are.
  10. What will it take to save the V8 Mustang?

What will it take to save the V8? There's not much that can be done other than engine swaps from approved vehicles such as F250s. Possibly we will have to move to China in order to get some freedom. I'm sure they will be burning loads of gas for many, many years. My plan is to vote...
  11. Mustang s650 posing in Ford Lightning ad?!

I like your thoughts here. I'm not into the Mach (or SUVs in general). I just want to know what selling well means to people in this thread who say that the Mach is selling well. I mean, Tesla sold 930something thousand cars last year. Ford's not really competing with them yet. I would...
  12. S650 Mustang Rendered in Colors + Enhanced Front Fascia

I agree the bronco and challenger designs look good, but they also don't remind me of a caveman unibrow. The latest Accord does look a little better than it did a few years ago when the design language first came out.. I agree with you here. The Camry has kind of a predator face with too...
  13. Mustang s650 posing in Ford Lightning ad?!

I'm surprised to hear that the Mach E is selling well. I thought it was running at about 1.6% of Ford's sales. I also read that Ford is selling very few in China and half of the cars made in Mexico are being sold in Europe (not able to sell them in the US). The number I've seen is 80,000...
  14. When do you think the S650 will be revealed?

I tend to think the reveal will be its own event and not based on a car show. The GT350 was revealed 11/18/2014 - prior to the LA auto show. According to google the 2015 Mustang was revealed December 5, 2013 and Ford started selling them mid-May of 2014. Ford announced about a month ahead of...
  15. S650 Mustang Rendered in Colors + Enhanced Front Fascia

Huh. I think they look terrible and I'm not surprised they aren't selling that well. It could be partially because people don't like cars anymore, who knows? My dad owns one, so I had to work really hard not to visibly gag when he showed it to me. Otherwise I probably wouldn't have any...
  16. S650 Mustang Rendered in Colors + Enhanced Front Fascia

Kind of reminds me of the unibrow look of the Honda Accord.
  17. S650 Mustang GT Full Frontal Leak!! 📸

I always preferred svelte girls. I guess you do not.
  18. The V8 - S650 and beyond

I agree with what you are saying, @Falc'man. That's why I'm advocating more cubic inches. It's a lot cheaper to build a larger, less optimized engine. And the result will be a more reliable engine as well. Increase the bore size and decrease or keep the same stroke to make the engine more...
  19. The V8 - S650 and beyond

We'd be a lot better off if Ford would take an existing engine like the 6.2 from the Raptor and modify it adding better breathing DOHC cylinder heads and making it naturally aspirated if they don't want to develop an entirely new engine. The 5.0 is a little tapped out. In the last 10 years...
  20. S650 Mustang Prototypes Spied High Altitude Testing

Makes sense to me. A minivan like the Mach E is more of a box shape, so trying to make them look similar and part of the same family means the Mustang may end up having a more boxy shape - ie. higher grill at a minimum.
