  1. Continuous Gear Display on Non-paddle shift Ecoboost

I believe that's the normal intended function. It downshifts for engine braking, and if you coast down to a lower speed, it will downshift again to keep engine braking. I believe if you floor it, it will eventually hit redline and upshift (haven't tried since I'm still in break-in period). The...
  2. Used road side assistance yesterday.

Makes me wonder: is it the batteries' fault, or do Mustangs have parasitic drain issues I've also used Ford Roadside when I got a flat on a rural road near Yosemite. Came in super handy. Their call centers are all over, I think I had agents from Philippines and US. But they were really good at...
  3. 2028 Camaro 7th gen approved! 🥊

Excited for this. Really loved my Camaro LT1 (cheapest trim with the V8). Now on my 3rd S650 Mustang, they just don't handle as well and predictably as the 6th gen Camaros. Even the 4cylinder Camaros were super tossable and balanced, and the V6s had amazing high-RPM howl.
  4. A10 transmission loud mechanical clunk at startup

Had a '24 Eco and '25 GT, both did this rarely. Only if the car was warm-started (5-40min after prior driving), but not always, and never happened on cold starts. I think it's a design issue with the trans/driveline, but that info A.alansari posted basically says Ford considers it normal...
  5. Paddle Shifters

We should have both. That's the industry norm on everything from decade+ old Camrys to Dodge Challengers and Chevy Camaros. Ford is just trying to save money with one less set of switches. They even omit the paddle shifters from all base Ecoboosts since 2022, whilst Corollas and other econo...
  6. Brand new Ecoboost, few seconds of lifter tick sometimes

I suspect it's due to oil aeration from oil over-fill. The oil level has consistently come back ~1/4" to 1/2" above the top dot. This might also explain why I haven't noticed any ticking on a true morning cold start, but rather after a short run, when the oil has been aerated, then I hear it on...
  7. Brand new Ecoboost, few seconds of lifter tick sometimes

Metallic tapping for a few seconds, then gone. Happens rarely, after an auto-stop-start. Never noticed it on a true cold start (like in the morning). I'm guessing lifter tick. Checked oil level: full. Brand new car so should not be aged timing components or anything like that. Is this normal...
  8. Add paddle shifters - theory

So far, people have been adding paddle shifters by buying a whole Dark Horse/GT wheel, either hoping to match your trim/features (+/- adaptive cruise), or switching over the buttons if mismatched. However, I wonder it's possible to buy just the paddle shifter assemblies themselves + the...
  9. Continuous Gear Display on Non-paddle shift Ecoboost

Just did this today to a 2025 Ecoboost base, stock steering wheel no paddles. The only address I changed was 720-02-01 (720-12-01 already had the correct value "E" in the appropriate position). I tried shifting into L and it seemed to drop to the lowest possible gear, not Neutral. I think...
  10. Steeda H pipe vs stock ave

Anyone have experience with AVE loudest mode vs an axle-back (basically just mufflers, like Roush, Borla, etc. with the stock resonator)?
  11. Mustang sales: 6,152 in March and increased 50.1% in Q1 2026

Ford had a 4,000 rebate on all leftover 2025s in March (even Ecoboosts). That's gone now for April. How do they expect the dealers to get rid of the few leftover 25s now?
  12. RTR Ecoboost now on order configurator

Disappointed. $9K over a base Ecoboost ($2195 High package + $6520 RTR package). For a couple grand more you get a GT, whole different kind of car. GT also has significantly higher rebates than Ecoboost (i.e. $4,000 off vs $1,500 off) and more negotiation room, so that negates the price gap...
  13. clunking/small knocking when light braking

Page 3 here shows what proper grease on the anti-ting ring looks like https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10179116-0001.pdf (This is the TSB for Expeditions/Navigators but it's actually the same issue)
  14. Deepest sounding axle back

Here's what a muffler delete sounded like. SR Performance (American Muscle's house brand) axle-back for S550, but I don't recommend because the tips cracked apart after a few weeks
  15. Deepest sounding axle back

I recommend trying an axle-back alone without an X/H-pipe. Axle-back alone: deep rumble, zero rasp. Volume increases like 30-70% depending. Muffler delete (basically just a metal pipe as the axle-back) gives you the deepest loudest rumble but may drone. X/H alone: adds some volume, maybe a...
  16. Does anyone else have these on their rear window glass?

Normal, I think it might for helping them align the glass during assembly
  17. S650 Mid Cycle Refresh

Hmm interesting, might be the case, as I've heard Toyota has also stretched out product lifecycles ( Next-Gen Toyotas Will Now Last for Almost a Decade - Autoblog ) Makes sense automakers might all be trying to devise new cost-cutting strategies however possible. We're definitely already seeing...
  18. S650 Mid Cycle Refresh

Any clues lately regarding MY2027 refresh/facelift? Or when might we find out? Seems like it would make sense, and S550 got refreshed after 3yr, so it's about time. Trying to decide whether to trade/upgrade for a discounted leftover '25 or new '26 or wait a year for refresh.
  19. Carbonized Gray Touch Up Paint not matching

24GTBadland's came out perfect, looks great. I also got the OEM Ford color code Carbonized Grey touch-up paint and it was slightly darker than the car's paint. In the real world, not very noticeable, but just a datapoint.
  20. How many times can oil drain plug be reused?

Glad to hear it's a metal oil pan on our S650s. I'm planning to replace the plug every 3-4 oil changes. Same plug between Ecoboost and GT btw.
