Agree the 'middle lane hoggers' can slow traffic down but ACC wouldn't slow anybody down in this situation as there would be nobody in front to make it slow the middle lane down.

Several cars back but still going at the same speed. Losing a few car lengths makes ZERO difference to your overall journey time. There are reasons ACC doesn't ride less than a car length at 70mph - never mind the safety implications of being too close to the car in front, short distances...

And the problem with that is? You are probably still travelling at the same speed so no net loss.

It does but a master reset of Sync will mean you can't track the car if stolen, even the dimmest car thief will know that. Airtags will not defeat a thief for long - they know to look for one.
