93 straight from the local gas station, not some VP specialty fuel or anything, no Boostane or anything else?
Do you know what size pulley and throttle body they are running?
Do they have headers and exhaust?
OOPS
LOL, I just saw this is a 2024 post
I thought this had to do with tuning...
So many times now, I find a relatively stable incline, horizontal or very slightly inclined upward, and drive in Track Mode at a specific, stable miles per hour velocity. While maintaining that same velocity, I switch to Sport Mode. 100% of the time, with my foot staying as stable on the pedal...
"thanks to Ford."
Is it electronically limited?
Are all of the GT models and the Dark Horse limited? Basic internet answer is the Dark Horse (manual only) top speed is 168 mph. I cannot find anything on the automatic.
No, I do not want to find out on the public roads, but I am still...
Already on page 3. Great thread, great explanations. You take your time and do not assume others know things, which is appreciated. Since I have done only one track day, I found the first few pages very worthwhile.
Cringed a little when I saw that cracked wheel, though!
Yes.
I discovered this when I was a young man working as a police officer. During a car chase, in the hot southern summer night, when the pedal stayed on the floor for long periods of time, I found myself sweating. Man, it's getting hot! I figured out soon that a/c turns off at full...
Please ignore that post - it was wrong and you were correct
I deleted it (please consider deleting the false info of mine that you quoted)
The TVS 2650 was an upgrade Magnuson and others offered. The factory blower was the 1740.
Advance the cam timing at low rpm and gradually retard it as the rpm goes up? Since the exhaust and intake can be moved independently, I am sure there is a lot with which to experiment, but I imagine that Ford put a lot of time and effort into that, which is why my little 5 liter engine is 500...
I deleted that post - sorry. I posted what I saw on the internet, and I think it must have been for a package of several cans. I did not intend to introduce confusion and false information
Wow, I had not seen that video. What an experiment. 😬
I liked his comment, "I can't lie. I'm a little bit scared." 😆
87 octane in a boosted 12:1 engine . . .
567 was a fourth gear pull, so that can't really be compared to dyno pulls in another gear. But, wow, his comments on knock are...
Hard numbers are difficult to come by, but on street engines it can be 50 to 150 horsepower just to turn the supercharger. The internet says it is over 1000 horsepower to turn the blower on a top fuel dragster.
The first and third options connect to the crankshaft, so there is going to be additional stress on the engine.
As for other stress on the engine and transmission, that is all going to be dependent upon how much power you are pushing through the engine and transmission.
With equal horsepower...
