That's actually 2 of the cars (plus Mach 1 and GT350) I had it narrowed down to recently and decided Dark Horse. I want to get some track time under my belt, and learn how to drive quickly and do it well. I assume the power level will be easier to control at the track at the Dark Horse level. I...
There are still 2022 GTs listed slightly over MSRP around me, have to travel many hours to get under MSRP. The Mach 1s and GT500s are marked up considerably(if you ever find one). However, I will not be paying over MSRP, it will be one of my conditions when I order. I do need to so some research...
Is that how it is in parts of the country? Must be nice. Around here, everything is still at or slightly over MSRP new, I see one used HP in 150 miles of me, and its 57.5k.
The most interesting thing to me from this article was that the DH will not have a higher redline. It really sounds like the DH engine is just stronger rods and a tune at this point. I wonder if the GT engine could be tuned the same.
Plans are done, everything is set on my end, i just really hope the car isn't over 72k optioned out, because of the competition. If I wanted the best track weapon for just over 70k, it probably would be a z51 c8, although markups are still around. Just don't want to see Ford price themselves out...
Im convinced race red will actually look great vs rapid red. The brighter colors of Grabber blue, white, and yellow all look great. I would have to think race red will look amazing as well with a black accent package. Thats my color combo for sure.
The front rotors look like 2 piece, which are on the current Mach 1. The rear rotors look like 1 piece, also like the Mach 1. I believe the GT350 had 2 piece rears, a little disappointing those didn't make it to the DH.
I was picking up what you were putting down. Any Dark Horses? Curious about about the packages...if they are even in the system yet. Wonder if it comes out as a Mach 1?!
I don't know if it is 'fake', being able to pull from Oasis, it seems like it is still putting in values from 2023 MY even though its a 2024, because Ford hasn't updated their system yet. Sync 3, 8 inch screen, 2 hood vents, 450 hp..... so yeah, no reason to look into 450 hp. That won't be it.
Edit: nevermind, I was wrong. Tried to use a vin decoder but messed up.
Like others have said, the fog lights and hood vents and infotainment verbiage is carryover, surely so is the 450 HP. They have mentioned 480 multiple times, I doubt it will be under 470-480, this sticker means nothing.
I would think you could do the DH horsepower upgrade without the extra coolers as a drag strip version. It may be like the 1320 Challenger? Im not sure there is enough meat on the bone to have a full model between the 2, but something like that could be a named package or something.
