What do you think is a viable alternative? Clearly current ICE and hybrids on their own won't be enough. Some people say hydrogen, but the economic and infrastructure issues there are far worse than evs. There is no hydrogen infrastructure in most of the country. There are tens of thousands of...
Hopefully the fiesta you owned was a manual, I've heard that auto dct in those is horrible, so hopefully you didn't have to deal with that. Have though about getting a fiesta myself, I've heard they're pretty reliable as long as you avoid the previously mentioned dct. The fiesta st seems great...
What if, and hear me out here, the s650 mules we've seen are just rebodied e-series chassis being tested? It seems crazy, but have you ever seen the e-series and s650 being tested at the same time? Coincidence? I think not, I rest my case your honor. *Plays X-files music as I leave the courtroom*
Ford's own f-150 over the course of about a decade will be at least 17% cheaper to own than a comparable gas powered f-150. Battery tech and motors can already easily last a few hundred thousand miles and well over a decade with no major issues, and they're getting more reliable all the time...
I know this, and I accept and enjoy the performance you get with some evs. But I also know that many hardcore enthusiasts would still prefer a vehicle with an ICE powertrain, even if it was much slower, so they could have that unique experience
If we saw this at all, it would probably be some sort of hybrid or ev mustang. Ford's obviously open to offering a stick shift on a ev mustang if that old sema concept is anything to go by. Would make sense, would still make drivers feel more engaged, without the need for a clutch.
Always knew it would be this way, it just makes sense. Evs for people who want basic transportation are the better option, they're cheaper to own long term, safer, much more reliable/durable, and they're obviously more environmentally friendly, making them the perfect cars for most consumers...
Also, I know they did if for functional reasons, but the mirrors on the bronco are placed pretty far forward. It doesn't seem to impact the effectiveness of the mirrors too much there, so it could work on the s650 as well.
Gt3 cars often have their own mirror placement, so that isn't the same placement as the street car most likely. Not to mention, I believe many racecars just house cameras in the mirrors, so the placement would prioritize aero above everything else.
In all seriousness, I'd imagine Ford will show some kind of teaser for the New York auto show, before revealing the s650 in Detroit. That teaser could be showing off a race car version of the s650, it could be some images of the car in the shadows, or showing off design sketches. There's a lot...
Time will tell. I'm starting to wonder if the s650 will really look like that sculpture. It doesn't seem to have the massive grille. Maybe the general shape of the sculpture was hinting at what we could expect - longer hood, roofline going all the way to the back etc. But we'll see. The design...
I wouldn't say that, those images are usually representative if the actual design. Take off the spoiler and we're most likely looking at the profile for the s650.
I noticed the roof liked a little rounder as well, I don't mind it if it still has that general fastback look and doesn't look too bubbly like the late 90s/ early 2000s mustang. It looks like we're seeing a pretty substantial change in the proportions and general shape of the vehicle. This goes...
I looks taller because that lighting element pulls your eye up, and because those lights are thin, they take up less vertical space, making the front end look less proportional.
I'm starting to wonder if Jem saw a different design proposal than the production s650. It looks like the s650 will have more striking proportions than the s550, if this teaser is accurate. I feel like he would have mentioned that. It could just be the tarp doing what tarps do, but it looks like...
That's what I'm thinking they'll do. They're already showing off the general shape of the car. I don't see them teasing something that substantial, and then going radio silent until the Detroit auto show. I think we'll see the race car or some other teasers during the New York auto show, with a...
