Do we know this for sure? The order banks won't even open for months
The s550 didn't have a bad looking front end by any means. But seeing it side by side with the s650 just makes the s650 look so modern/striking.
The s550 2015-2017 front end looks great. But this looks like a nice evolution to that. I didn't realize just how soft the front end of the s550 was until I saw this. Personally love the black going down the bumper. Looks like a tamer gt500 front end. I've said it before, but I view the gt's...
In the sense that paying tribute to 80s design language is more modern than paying tribute to 60s design language. Plus it would be a mostly fresh, and new design, with a few retro touches, rather than a design that had to look identical to an old one, that's what I mean by progressive.
Bro, you seem like the kind of guy who would join a religious forum as an atheist just to constantly insult people who are just trying to enjoy their religion. Or the person with strong political views who constantly attacks voters who support the opposing party. There's nothing with having your...
Hell yeah, line flow always makes a design look better. Excellent analysis, I noticed from day one how the lines on the front end flowed into one another. But I never noticed how the inner character lines on the hood lined up perfect with the "fangs" in the grille.
Basically, I'm not surprised, it's a tweaked, more metallic version of Area 51 and that color is the same way. With crappy lighting, it's not great, but under a lot of conditions, it's a knock out.
I don't understand takes like this at all. You presumably haven't seen the design in person, yet you're writing it off. I rarely get behind the "It doesn't look like X anymore" comments, they rarely make sense, especially for a car like the mustang. The mustang has had such a wide variety of...
Hell, if Ford has proven this platform can be profitable on the maverick with a starting price in the low 20s, and the focus being cheaper still,I wouldn't be surprised if they could make a business case for pricing these at a starting price in the mid to high 20s going up to about 40k or so...
In many respects I agree with you, but to be fair, a lot of the affordable sports car concepts that get canned use a bespoke platform, something which, as you essentially pointed out, isn't economically viable anymore. But sharing a platform may work. The c2 has almost certainly made it's...
Idk, of course it doesn't look identical to a fox body, that's not what I'm saying. But it's clearly inspired by it, more compact dimensions, more upright roofline like the fox body, with what could be a hatch in the rear. The lack of a large upper grille, even the line on the hood that sweeps...
Yeah, I know it's a stretch suggesting that they use the C2 platform, as from my understanding, it would be difficult to make that platform RWD. But if they could, everything else about that platform seems perfect for a car like this. It's light, small, cheap, scalable etc. There are currently 6...
I want to say even the roofline is charged. Seeing the s650 and s550 side by side, it seems like the s650 has a slightly rounder roof, and the fastback curves down more rapidly.
The more I see if this car, the more I like it. Took me a bit to get used to the longer decklid, and the lack of hard creases on the side. But I think both of these changes make the car look cleaner, and more timeless.
As many enthusiasts have laminated the loss of the small, light, and affordable mustang, I thought it would be interesting if Ford developed a foxbody inspired, FRS and Miata rival with smaller displacement engines using this design which looks like a modern fox body imo.
They could use the...
