  1. Mustang EV Coupe Concept Thread

I second evs playing kitten noises. Would give new meaning to the expression "That baby purrs".
  2. Mustang EV Coupe Concept Thread

Yeah, solid state battery tech really needs to take over before I can feasibly see more EV sports cars. I agree current battery tech is just too heavy. I think we're at a tipping point for vehicle design. For decades it was make everything bigger, now the trend is reversing. Smaller cars are...
  3. Mustang EV Coupe Concept Thread

I tend to agree. About a week ago I proposed that ford should offer a smaller mustang to slot below the s650 to appeal to younger buyers. But if that isn't in the cards, making the s750 smaller would also suffice. Don't go full BRZ, but maybe something like the current Camaro. Just with better...
  4. Mustang EV Coupe Concept Thread

Mazda confirmed the next gen Miata which is close to release will be ICE only most likely. They showed all the generations of the Miata immediately before teasing this concept. So with that in mind, if the next gen Miata looks like that, holy shit sign me up, especially if they're still hovering...
  5. Mustang EV Coupe Concept Thread

On the topic of electric pony cars, Chevy showed this concept a few days ago. I, and many others noted how some of these design cues could make their way onto an EV Camaro.
  6. 2024 Mustang GT "Looks Much Better In Person!" (Walkaround Video @ LA Auto Show)

Idk, I remember quite a few people wishing the s550 was a more drastic departure when released.

There's also the third crowd which is rapidly becoming the majority who were a little unsure at first, but who are starting to love it. I fit firmly in that group.
  8. Why not vent on Ecoboost hood?

It's definitely not a cost issue, it's more expensive to produce two different hoods than one. Mostly done to differentiate between trims. The s550 eb didn't have hood vents either unless I'm missing something, and they never really had an issue.
  9. Red S650 Mustang Ecoboost pics from Ford Authority

Exactly, the terrible image quality combined with the negative comments of the person who took the pics makes me wonder if they intentionally distorted the pic to make it look worse. Some people are petty like that.
  10. Red S650 Mustang Ecoboost pics from Ford Authority

To each their own, the issue imo is the 2018 to current design doesn't flow as well as the s650 or the pre-facelift. The s650 front end has masterful line flow. The single line running across the grille and lights. The lower vent lines curve up into the fangs in the grille, which line up with...
  11. 2024 Mustang GT "Looks Much Better In Person!" (Walkaround Video @ LA Auto Show)

I highly recommend my POS, a 2009 Kia Rio. Weighs about 2,400 lbs, yes, really. My entire door is thinner than the armrest on the my parents 2017 explorer.
  12. Red S650 Mustang Ecoboost pics from Ford Authority

This shows that the flat trunk lid is actually well proportioned. Some photos made it look too long, but that just seems like a weird angle that wrongly gave us that impression.
  13. Red S650 Mustang Ecoboost pics from Ford Authority

Personally, I and most other mustang fans I've talked to can't stand the 2018 front end. This looks like a more muscular 2015-17 front end with better line flow, that's why many of us love it.
  14. First Time Driving Cars Fast On A Track

Regarding the nausea question, I think it's a combination of building up a tolerance and diet. If I'm remembering correctly, most race teams have professional chefs who created meals with ingredients that counter motion sickness.
  15. Black Accent vs Standard Headlights

Personally, I prefer the original, gives the front end more character. But I can understand why some would prefer the cleaner blacked out lights. I'd say it depends also on if you want maximum contrast or not. Those three white u-shapes will look very striking on a black car or something like that.
  16. 2024 Mustang GT "Looks Much Better In Person!" (Walkaround Video @ LA Auto Show)

Exactly, not to mention with how beloved the s550 was, if Ford did make a massive change, we all know the same people who are mad ford didn't change it enough would be complaining that ford changed it too much.
  17. Would You Consider a Smaller Foxbody Inspired Mustang?

Exactly, it's no surprise that it's difficult to make a business case for a new sports car due to low sales and profitability. Hence why platform sharing and trying to distribute those develop costs across multiple models is crucial.
  18. 2024 Mustang GT "Looks Much Better In Person!" (Walkaround Video @ LA Auto Show)

Good shots, but what the hell was that Wario scream at the 21 second mark?
  19. Would You Consider a Smaller Foxbody Inspired Mustang?

Exactly, as you pointed out, the gt86 is selling well, and unless I missed something, the only car it shares a platform with it the BRZ. So it doesn't have the economies of scale that the C2 has.
  20. Would You Consider a Smaller Foxbody Inspired Mustang?

True but the issue with the Camaro was it was trying to be smaller and lighter while still competing against larger, more muscular cars. I'm talking about doing an additional mustang model designed to appeal to people like the gt86 buyers and old school purists.
