Oh Lord! If I haven't forgotten any, that would be 27 different models, the oldest a 1940 Chevy sedan, and the latest being the 2024 Mustang Eco-Boost.
I sat down a few years ago, and flipped through an old file box. In there was the window sticker from the first new car I ever bought. Those...
I have never had my setting change. I keep hearing about others with the issue, but I have not. I've never had the display go blank nor the dash not working as advertised, nor has anything else cropped up to annoy me. If anything annoys me, it is simply the fact I cannot set the parameters just...
One thing I kept wet I got ride of the EV cycle, and that was the hydraulic lift I bought for it from Harbor Freight. Turns out, it can easily lift one side of the Mustang with little effort. The safety latching system is very good, and I don not feel any queasiness getting under the Mustang...
Doing this on a GT allows you to see how dirty the intake side of the filter is. Doing this on an Eco-Boost would only show you the outlet side which isn't telltale.
One would almost have to assume the intake boxes are, at least in part, made from recycled plastic. So making them clear would...
If left to the vehicle's own programming, whether is actives after warm up is based on several factors, not the least of which is the condition of the battery. The algorithm (basis of operation) is explained in the manual.
It is the new year, and wouldn't it be nice if those drift-stick-equipped drivers would resolve themselves, to never use it! Of course that won't happen, but it would sure go a long way to improve the image of Mustang drivers as a whole.
Here is a thought. It appears that all Eco-Boosts have ASS (the abbreviation says it all!), but not all GTs have it. Since all of this is related to CAFE standards, us Eco-Boost drivers are allowing some of you guys to drive around in GTs without ASS! Best give us a bit of recognition as it were!
I call that a hood seal. My Eco-Boost came off the line on 6/13/24 and the seal is there . That missing part should be covered under warranty.
Incidentally, I'd be more worried about the missing cap on the windshield reservoir.
All kinds of odors can permeate fabrics and other porous materials, with cigarette odor being about the worse one. Some of those get stuck in the cabin air filter which is the best place to start. I prefer the cabin filters equipped with activated carbon to help absorb all sorts of contaminants...
Plastic dip. How about that. There is a young lady (they're all young compared to me!) who eats b-fast at the same dive I do. She happens to own a dark gray 2020 Eco-Boost. I noticed the pony emblems were black, not silver. She told me she dipped her's in plastic dip like that used for tool...
In my driving circle, I can't see a need for a drift brake except what I alluded to above. Even my 2019 Ranger has the ubiquitous hand brake, when the latest model does not. It is certainly cheaper to manufacture or Ford wouldn't be using it.
I suspect we all need to step back a pace or two...
My one beef with them has no relation to their ability to cause the car to drift. Rather if you got into a situation where the brake system failed completely, you could use the parking (drift) brake (once known as an emergency brake) to stop the vehicle. The electronic one is disabled after...
Technically, these are in violation of the Fed DOT section 393.11 covering requisite vehicle lighting. Some would argue that they meet the requirement when lit, but there is no verbiage stating that specific scenario. Steve Lehto, arguably the best vehicle law attorney in the US, covered this a...
