It is my opinion that Ford's manufacturing slogan isn't always correct. If you talk to the dealers, they'll tell you that far too many times, realignment is necessary before delivery. I sort of suspect the alignment is on the dealer as part of the new car get ready routine.
My Eco-Boost wasn't...
My 2024 Eco-Boost Premium, non PP, was delivered with 283 miles on it, as it was driven from a dealer in Los Cruses, to my dealer here in Roswell. The dash showed 29.6 mpg, but some of that was due to idling while waiting until the highway reopened near White Sands (missile launch).
Since the...
I can almost assure you what will happen even if you follow the rules. There is a little gear of sorts, which rides in a carrier. The funny looking rod (shown above which snaps off and on, hopefully??) rides through the gear carrier. Mine fell off, dropped behind the rocker panel. The retrieve...
All you GT drivers rejoice. All I want as an Eco-Boost driver, is a tune for me! I've had one for my 2019 Ranger for nearly as long as I've owned it. I just want the same level of performance upgrade as the Ranger got. Another 40 to 50 HP and about 40 to 60 pound-feet of torque would be nice...
Just curious: Eco-Boost cars show vacuum in inches of mercury and pressure in PSI. Once a Whipple gets installed on a GT, does the pressure readout change like the one in the Eco-Boost?
Let's see. Four doors to satisfy a family's needs, or to justification for a father with kids owning a 'sports car? Or perhaps a V6 to appease the wife? Nah, I think not!
The general public, including those who buy and drive EVs, have little clue of the engineering needed to design and manufacture the requisite batteries which powers them. The one commonality of all batteries is they rely on chemistry. They don't make energy, they only store it. Putting in that...
I think this video (and acceleration test if you can call it that) was meant to bolster the ego and appendage sizes of Mopar guys who were dumb enough to buy an EV with sound effects! Yes, there are legitimate places in the market for EVs and hybrids. But as a performance vehicle, not so much...
The AC will never be on at or below 4C to prevent damage to the system from ice.
I'm not sure this is always the case, especially if you turn on the defrost. Both my Mustang and Ranger turn on the compressor when it is below freezing. I can't say when it does it as I don't stare at the display.
I'll try to remember that in the morning. My 2019 Ranger (rather well Ford P tuned from exhaust to the turbo to the intercooler to the intake) always sounds like a 4 holer. The exhaust is a Ford-sold, Borla 3" system. The down pipe (I believe) caused the most significant change in sound...
As far as I'm concerned, this is a safety recall issue. If enough folks have the problem, the NHTSB will investigate the issue. The NHTSB does have both a hot line and an on-line complaint form.
I have had colors and dash layout change 3 times. It has always happened after a software upgrade. Yes, this could be corrected in software, but in reality it doesn't matter. After all, it only tacks a few minutes at best to reset the parameters. This said, if it is happening without an upgrade...
You all need to live in the desert southwest! For example, it blows here in Roswell, NM to the point, the sky turns brown with dust. Add in the high temperatures to sublime the oil out of the pavement which then mixes with the dirt, and you have ice-like traction. Even braking can become an issue.
